My Personal Best Largemouth So Far!
This is an excellent forum with many knowledgable fishermen and the majority are extremely helpful to everyone. I hope you have a great time here and keep on catching those fine BASS! BTW, since I'm only 4 foot tall... All of my fish look a bit on the hefty side, LOL Big O www.ragetail.com

One More Before Icast
Had to do it... Fish once more before I leave for ICAST. Got a chance to fish with another old retired guy like me Kenneth Walker (Six Time Bass Master Classic Qualifier) and he wanted to take his boat so I was even happier! We covered the water from top to bottom with him throwing mostly cranks and spinnerbaits... and me following up with Flipping or bottom bumping jigs and/or soft plastics. We caught a pile of fish and I jerked on this OLD Gal with bulging eyes, using a T - rigged Lobster. It was alot of fun to fish out of the back of the boat for a change as well as spend the day with another old guy! Big O www,ragetail.com

My Personal Best Largemouth So Far!
It appears that you're doing well and WTG! I agree with the "slow down and relax" theory... especially when fishing soft plastics, I always catch more and bigger fish when I'm taking the time to pick apart every bit of structure that the bottom has to offer. As for timing on the hook set, when you're using a relatively small presentation and slowly crawling it across the bottom, ASAP works best for sure. On bigger baits like 10" worms on the bottom or quicker moving top water soft plastics, it's often best to pause one count after the strike while reeling the slack up before setting the hook. Hope that helps and congrats on the nice fish! Big O www.ragetail.com

Beautiful Fish!
Had another good day on the water and the Jig and Lobster seemed to be the best set up again. This Pretty Girl was also the biggest one and the link is a slide show of the others. The third fish that I'm holding was blind in her left eye and I've noticed more and more this year that have eye injuries. Headed to ICAST next week but hopefully I'll get a chance to get back on the water one more time between now and then. Slide Show: http://s1215.photobu...nt=27f247cc.pbw Big O www.ragetail.com

Im In Love
Just like a buzzbait, but you can throw it in any type of cover, moss etc. without fouling. Try not to reel is too fast as it will stay on top at very slow speeds as long as you keep your rod tip up slightly. Pause 1 second after the strike reeling down to take up slack and set the hook... Have fun! Here's rigging instructions: http://www.ragetail.com/ragetailshad.html Big O www.ragetail.com

Im In Love
WTG Clayton your timing on the hookset and technique on the retrieve as well as controlling the energy that the fish has left when you get him to your hand is GOOD... Those are big factors in the longevity of soft plastics, along with not over casting (rod whip) and line choice of braid fluoro/mono etc. You obviously have all factors firmly in tune! Also glad you had a great time with the Shad. IMO, it's the best too Big O www.ragetail.com
