Big-O

Lately, I have been flipping/pitching between my runs to deeper water football jig or C rigging spots. The flipping bite has been good all year for me but it seems that recently, the bigger bite has been on deeper drops. Big O www.ragetail.com

Cliff, Jigging spoon, swimbait style soft plastics and C rigs are still hot items on Fork during the Fall months. If the water starts cooling down and for the bigger bites, I work the secondary points and creek channel structure pretty hard. If you hire a guide, he should have all of that figured out for you. Fat-G, I'm always ready for Fall fishing... but I'm stuck on jigs and/or Soft Plastics year around, it's a bit easier pace for me to handle for an extended stay on the water Heck, who am I fooling... that's all I fish Big O www.ragetail.com

June Bug color is good in murky water as well! Might try a Rage Rig (weighted swimbait hook) on your soft plastics like, Craws, creature baits and Big Worms as this presentation allows the bait to fall horizontal thru the grass and weeds. Doesn't grass foul as much and the fall is especially attractive to the fish when fished slow like T rig lift and fall. Keep your rod tip high with short, slow lifts and settle technique. This has been one of my favorite presentations for many years in those conditions. Concentrate on the grass edges on points and near deeper water and allow the bait to fall slowly over the outside edges when possible. Hope this helps you out a bit... Big O www.ragetail.com

When I stuck my hand in this big mouth all I could feel was alot of bone. Get a load of the Jaws on this one. Caught it on a C rigged Rage Eeliminator. Glenn had recently discussed C rigging technique on a video he posted and it reminded me of a few areas that I should be working over with a C rig. They're deep rock ledges and drops with scattered brush on the edge. The football jig was hangin up badly so those areas set up perfectly for the C rig. The eeliminator is my first and foremost choice for this presentation and it seems that the big girls kinda like it too. Oh Baby... thats what Im talkin bout! www.ragetail.com

Thanks y'all, a guys gotta get lucky sometime This one came from a spot that only held two fish and the other one was about 7. Probably spent more time on it than I needed to but things worked out for the better anyway. Spent much of the day running a gunning different spots and if we hit 2 small fish in a row... off we went. We finally found a mother load This spot dialed in to be less than the size of a house, and we snatched over 20 fish between 6 and 9.5. Now that's the type of area that I'll wreck pretty hard My best 5 for the day was 43.5lbs and Terry's was 39lbs. We figured that was good enough to celebrate with a few adult beverages I'm headed out tomorrow for another round of action and I hope I've figured out something that can help me to do a little better! Early this year the flippin bite was STRONG, then the T rigged Thumper, Anaconda and Rage Hawg took over. Recently the fish moved a little deeper and the Football jig n Lobster has been getting all of the action. I'm sure the jig is gonna stay active but now I believe they want the best I have to offer when it comes to a C rig too I'm planning to Eeliminate'em. PJ, Just put a small amount of your scent gel, paste etc. in one of your sturdy, empty re-sealable soft plastic bait bags (like RT bags) Insert your rigged bait, massage around, remove bait, re-seal the bag, fish with no mess, no waste. Big O www.ragetail.com

IMO, number ONE is only fishing lakes where big fish are known to roam. After that, it's being willing to leave the small or medium bite in order to locate the larger models. There are many other factors to consider but these two challenges should have high priority in your plan. Big O www.ragetail.com

Decided to make a long drive to Falcon (8 hrs) this past weekend and the water was down 3 and 4 feet since my last visit. The good news was that the fish were still holding at the same basic depths and structure types as the last time I fished there... So I was able to WRECK'em a bit. The Football jig and Rage Lobster (Falcon Lake Craw color) took care of business. It was like showing me "Ice Cream"... I'm gonna EAT IT My buddy Terry had a good day as well and when we got off the water, he said he was painfully sore in the areas of his HANDS, ARMS, SHOULDERS and especially RIBS Appears that I have the week off after tomorrow, so I may slip away and try to find a few more Big O Babies hope yall are having some fishin' fun too! X2, I posted this some time back to help us understand "What we learn to target most often... we will learn to hit most often" A fellow took his Grandson to a shooting facility to sight in the boys new hunting rifle. There were separate target ranges for shooters from 50 out to 1000 yards, and they chose the 100 yrd range as did the majority of the other shooters. Not only was this the busiest range, but it was very exciting with the hussle and bussle not to mention all the noise and fast paced shooting action. The young boy was excited and had a great time at this range! When they were leaving, they stopped for a short time at the 1000 yard range where there were a couple of lonely shooters. As they observed this range, Granddad noticed the boys impatience with this slower and more tedious process... There were longer time periods between shots while hesitating for cking their exact placement, only to pause again and adjust for the changing down range wind conditions etc. In the Grandsons opinion, this range lacked much of the excitement that the busy and more popular 100 yrd range provided, and the Boy said "BORING". ------------------- This displays and mirrors fishing experiences for many of us "IF" we in fact have a variety of fishing opportunities to consider. Some target "Catching Many Fish" and become very successful and happy doing exactly that through their repetitive actions, experience and persistance to do so. I average spending a couple of hours each time I visit there as well. It's an Indoors - Outdoor World Glad you had a good time! Now if they had a standard everyday area where folks could go for learning Flippin', Pitchin, Castin' and basic rigging info or maybe ask questions to learn some new things and receive detailed instruction on technique... Uhhh that would be AWESOME Maybe I should put a bug in someones ear They do some of that on several wkends thruout the year but an everyday opportunity might be a huge draw for them too.
