Hard to do from shore without a boat but punching the grass with the right baits and equipment will always get their atterntion especially on waters that others will avoid when the grass takes over. The fish are still hungry and basically in the same areas as before but also under the thickest grass mats near deeper water. Hope that helps! Big O www.ragetail.com

Yeh, mine is the same motor and I drove 8 hrs. one way only to find out that there was a problem when I got to the ramp! Returned home and ordered the coils I'll be back out there soon... I HOPE

Natural colors like greens and browns - Watermelon, Green Pumpkin and colors mixed with them. The jig in my avatar is a good example. Also translucent colors over the entire spectrum will often work well in clear water but you'll need to try a variety to find the best among them. Big O www.ragetail.com

I'm in the FASTER the BETTER camp as well as longer rods... I often spin the reel handle for taking up slack after a pull or hop to improve feel timing etc. so fast gears fit my style much better. Big O www.ragetail.com

Yes it was a St Croix Rage Rod and I have 4 others that I've put thru the same abuse and I've since over-tested in the same area, they've performed flawlessly . I admit, my rods take a beating plus from 50 to 80lb braid in the trees. I think it was caused from rough handling... or a size 14 shoe dancing on the deck Big O www.ragetail.com

And I got her in too The "Big Mouth" was the Gal that made me to go swimming with her and the other was later after I had dried off a bit The Jig and Lobster is still my main set up but the fish are scattered so Flippin/Pitchin and Football presentations are both needed to entice the bite! Was using the Siebert Outdoors1oz Big O Football jig again and had to go to a 1oz Hack Attack or Oldham Flippin jig. Needed the heavier weight to get thru the thick brush and to the bottom on the Pitch. Helps me to cover water faster and locate the bigger bite sooner. I don't have any of Mikes 1oz brush jigs to ck out as of yet... But I've ordered a few of those too Broke a rod on a hook set directly below the reel, a place that I've never seen before... Lost the fish and almost the reel too I might have been a little too aggressive on that one Hope y'all are getting on the water too... and not unnecessarily in it like I was Big O www.ragetail.com
