You have some awesome fishing too, fished there alot back in the 60's and 70's Big O www.ragetail.com

  11. Not all fish that set heavy weight records are superior genetic freaks...but they are superior feeding freaks, just like some of yours are Paul I think I might be a superior feeder too, I am getting huge in my older years Big O www.ragetail.com
  12. Good Parenting skills are necessary to raise good young'uns and sounds like you're doing a good job Paul Glad you like the Thumper and I like it's versatility too... Big O www.ragetail.com
  13. Excellent Fish and congratulations on your new PB Big O www.ragetail.com
  14. I always bury the eye of the hook slightly for line knot protection Also to the original topic question, I agree that the style of hook chosen should determine necessity for skin hooking or not. When using a standard EWG where the eye of the hook is in line with the hook point, skin hooking is preferred. Using a straight shank flipping hook or even some of the offset J Hooks, in order to keep a straighter profile on the bait and possibly avoid cork screwing on a quick retrieve, leaving the hook point just below the skin of the bait is OK. I will push the hook point thru for an exit channel and slip it back inside the plastic for weedless applications. Hope that helps, Big O www.ragetail.com
  15. That's a great report and sounds like you had fun regardless Big O www.ragetail.com

  21. That's what fishing is all about in my book, Good friends having Good times on the water Big O www.ragetail.com
  22. I use standard 2/0 or 3/0 Owner offset round bend hooks for them when Tx. rigging or flipping. Any small jig even 1/8 oz will still fall with plenty of flapping action. Big O www.ragetail.com
  23. Those are some fine fish Randall and I haven't figured out why the folks can't understand the need for grass in many of our lakes...Maybe it's not the bass fishing they're interested in when they make those decisions. Big O www.ragetail.com
  24. Yep, that's a good one for sure...WTG Big O www.ragetail.com
