Big-O

For those of us you who are familiar with the size of the Baby Rage Craw...here is a Size Comparison with the Rage Shrimp Trailer. BTW, I haven't beat 10 lbs as of yet with this small set up but I got a 9.60 on it this Spring. Here you go Jig'a'Maniacs, it don't get any better than this for Small Finesse Jigs like a Strike King Bitsy Bug... Notice we begin with any choice of Shrimp colors...mine being the Green Pumpkin or a color with a Chartreuse tail. Then you'll see the photo where the Shrimp Tail is scissor cut with or altered to produce the trailer. Notice the center section in the tail is removed along with slight trimming of the back ridge on the Shrimp to reduce bulk. The last photos are of each color applied to a 3/16 oz Bitsy Bug Jig...This trailer is a high floater which will also help to stand the jig up when it is on the bottom and the length of the trailer can be adjusted according to your preference. With this product, it is necessary to PULL the trailer up completely over the keeper because pushing it up as we do with other trailers doesn't work...Kind of like pulling up your pants 8-) And once it's completely over the keeper, it's there for good As the Shrimp are produced from Elaztech Plastic, they are extremely durable and will last through many more fish than standard Polysol Plastic products. Important to remember to keep your Elaztech Plastics seperated from other soft plastic products as there will be an adverse chemical reaction. Also Spike it and other dips react to it too...just use the Gel scent that is included in the package, BASS love it Here's a couple of the shops that will have them in a week or two.. RyneB, you're rigging is very popular and like RW mentioned the weighted hook on it works extremely well too. I haven't fished it on top but every other way I can think of and with great success. I learned something a few Summers back when the fish were on deep humps and ledges. On a tough mid day bite, I removed the skirt from my Football Jig and threaded the Rooster on it....it was "GAME ON". Now this is a standard set up on my deck Flipping, T and C rigged, on weighted hooks or on jig heads for swimming or dragging are the most popular methods I'm aware of. We hooked up on some slob Bull Reds on the New Rage Shrimp. I gotta go back and do that again.....The last time I had a pull like this was fishing King Salmon in BC, absolute brutes. The two kids and I decided to go search down some night time Bulls by using night vision in shallow point flats, right off the deep ship channels....they were running wads of mullet and croaker up on the sand and rocks and we could see their wakes in the moon light. Tossing the Rage Shrimp on a 3/8 oz jig head just ahead of them was magic, kinda like pitching a volleyball out in front of a Freight Train, lol ;D Big O www.ragetail.com

For sure, a good follow up to a missed top bite is a jig, Craw, or most any sinking soft plastic. Personally, I prefer a lightweight 1/8 to a 1/4 oz T Rigged Craw because it's remarkably irresistable to aggressive fish. The Eeliminator was designed to be used with a 4/0 Superline EWG...but since then there have been several new hook designs that work extremely well. I am partial to the Moaner 5/0 weightless screwlock hook. It has a good wire, nice gap and the Bait normally lasts through several fishwhen usin it.
