Cold, Wind, Rain and Bass
Looks like you're in a football game to me A-Jay Those are some great looking fish for sure. Seeing a similar bite here in Tx and can't put the jig down right now, flippin timber w/grass edges and dragging footballs on medium depth ledges...We've had a terrific moon over the last wk or so Big O www.ragetail.com

Denny Brauer talks Jigs and Soft Plastics
Don't hold back waiting on water temps...Consider a swim jig presentation as well during the warmer times. Greg Hackney's #1 lure this year was his HackAttack jig fished in several situation styles...and much of that was swimming it. Another favorite warm weather jig technique is downsizing to light grass style jigs and finessing the grass tops and edges or dragging Football style jigs over the deeper ledges and points. I have several jig types on the deck at all times just for these reasons Big O www.ragetail.com

Moaner hooks
I use the standard 6/0 Stroker for them when I'm using 25lb Fluoro and then change to the Heavy hook you and I discussed when I can throw braid Big O www.ragetail.com

Moaner hooks
Big O, can you confirm this statement? Yes they are...and the wire is strong enough to hold big fish yet small enough diameter to sink the hook point with less force than larger dia. wire hooks require. Swimbait style offerings are regularly fished on Mono and/or Fluoro with long casts...so being able to get a dependable hookset on the end of a cast is nice Big O www.ragetail.com

Moaner hooks
Hey Speed, as Nate mentioned...their individual products play off of the Moaner Brand name which is a bit different than the industry standard. Their Weighted Stroker (weighted hook) is a terrific set up for any soft plastic to provide a more parallel fall due to it's weight position on the hook shank and the overall weight shape is a good design too. Strong sharp hooks and I think you'll like'em Big O www.ragetail.com

3rd times a charm! almost pb!
00 mod, You did GOOD and don't worry too much about getting frustrated, we all do sometime. I bet an Owners 5/0 standard offset J hook will get you hooked up for good on the Rage Hawg, my favorite hook for it... Now that you know where she's hangin', slip back out there first chance and get some payback You can do it!! RW seems to be a good luck charm for many of us here at BR Big O www.ragetail.com

Why is this happening?
Problem solved with the hook change as noted in the above post Big O www.ragetail.com
-
Why is this happening?
X2 and might try a standard Owners offset J Hook instead of EWG styles...if that was what you were using. Maybe a slightly heavier line for a more sure hook up. Don't get impatient with yourself friend...you're doing something right because you're getting bit Usually the smallest changes will make the biggest differences. Stay positive and work on the details, it will all come together Big O www.ragetail.com

Anybody fished Falcon in December?
Really all depends on what the water levels are doing...Mexico controls the Dam and fluctuating levels move the fish in and out of shallower water. I would call Falcon Lake Tackle and talk to Tom. He can give you some pertinent info on water levels just prior to your visit, surface temps etc. which will help you figure out which patterns might be most effective. Hope that helps Big O www.ragetail.com
