Bass Pro anti-CCW - Resolved.
It is a common opinion that lots of folks walking around with concealed weapons means accidental discharges all over the place. While it does happen, it is rare compared to the number of folks carrying concealed. A LOT more folks will have one or more accidents with their vehicles (many resulting in injury or death) than firearms owners that carry concealed. When you buy a holster for CC, do you check to make sure your sidearm of choice fits? When you purchase a handgun, do you look down the sights at the counter (hopefully into a "safe" backstop)? My point was that banning carrying loaded handguns is the absolute rule in many gun shops, law enforcement academies, and other places where you run into a large quantity of guns that "should" be unloaded. I don't think alot of CCW holders are idiots (while there are some, you have to admit), but on a whole they're pretty a pretty responsible lot. But accidents do happen, and if you carry a loaded weapon into a store/cleaning room/classroom etc. where people will be handling "unloaded" guns, you introduce the chance, no matter how small, that an accident will happen. Alot more people walking around carrying concealed actually does increase the likelihood that someone will have an AD, just by sheer numbers. It happens at police departments, training academies, ranges and gun shops across the country.

Bass Pro anti-CCW - Resolved.
Since they sell guns, they do not want any loaded guns walking around that may possibly be confused with the unloaded ones, or be taken out and tried in holsters that they sell; it's a recipe for disaster. I'm pretty sure they had an accident like that, confusing the gun from the counter with someone's carry, pointing and BANG...hole in the fish tank. I doubt they're anti-CCW, it's just a safety issue.

I want...
On the stink; They're machine washable. I have water shoes that will curl your toes; apparently they took that into consideration. I guess for Burley in SW by God VA, machine wash might as well be unicorn wash.

My heart goes out to you; we always have to let them go too soon. Nothing like a new puppy to cheer you up when you're ready though.

Question for any Fly Fishermen out there
Tie an overhand knot or two in the braid and then tie your nail knot above that. It'll hold, trim the tag end on the braid to 1/8 inch and you're good to go.

Raiders draft Rolando McClain????
Campbell has had some awful (offal?) lines in front of hi the last couple years and not much to hand the ball off to or throw to, and he's still put up some decent numbers. He's also been jerked around alot, had some wacky personalities with limited talent around him and taken it all in stride. Come to think of it, he'll be right at home on the Raiders.

Help a noob outfit his tackle box. (one local store to choose from)
From Dick's, there's a Strike King spinnerbait that's like a house brand for them that's $3 I think, a couple of the 1/4 or 3/8 oz one's in white or white/chartrues or white/gold wil do you well. Get some 4/0 gamakatsu (I use the G-locks) worm hooks, a pack of 1/8 or 1/4 oz worm weights, a bag of berkely powerworms in green pumpkin, red shad or you pick, and some senkos or a yum dingers or Strike king Ochos in a natural color. Maybe a bag of a creature bait (Berkely WOlley Hawgtails come to mind) will covermos things you'd do with a jig. That should keep you under $30. If I were you I'd use the spinnerbaits 90% of the time in various ways, burning near the surface, slow rolling, targeting cover, yo-yo retrieve, etc, and then follow up with the soft plastics in areas where you get strikes or have obvious cover. For someone that's new, that should cover you for a season.

After 12+ years of browsing forums...
I agree 100% with Burley; people have lost any pride and/or care in public presentations of themselves. However, it did take Burley 12 years to figure out the spelling/grammar in forums was isht, so whose education is worse? :-/ :-/

Fly fishing equipment?
Take Stasher's advice and fish it for a while. Then, when you have some experience, work towards a better outfit that fits what you like to fish. You should just mail me your wallet now for safe keeping.

This Phillies fan needs to be......
I can't believe that guy punched him in the face. It should've been an angry mob with a combination of punches, kicks and maybe some choke holds, just to make sure he didn't get anything else up. It's a public safety matter.

8 lbs 7 oz, on 4/11/10 at 11:04 PM. Beats my former PB by about a 9 oz and a WIDE emotional margin. Mom and baby are doing great. Dad's busy figuring out how to put rod holders on a stroller. Wilson Fischer Volfan

Memphis/Bartlett TN - Bank Bass Fishing
Herb Parsons State Park and Lake has pretty great bass fishing, and is just outside Shelby County in Fayette county off Fisherville Rd. You'll have a outside shot at 9+ lb fish and the trails around it to the many coves are well kept. It's usually pretty peaceful, and there's lots of cover and structure that's reachable from shore.

Looking for a good pair of shoes
Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultras. They might cost you north of $100, but if you look for them on Zappos or Sierra Tradng Post you can get last years for less $$. GREAT shoe, I do everything from running to work in mine. Don't get too hot in the summer either. Good grip on wet surfaces, and waterproof until it comes over the top, The lace system takes a little getting used to but they're like slippers after you get it set,

Do not buy a scale!
You guys need to learn to pull the tail to get an accurate weight. It makes sure the fish is in lne with the scale.

Bathroom remodel help
It probably goes without saying, but if you use the saws-all, make sure there aren't any pipes or electrical wires behind the plaster, or be mindful of them if there are.
