  1. Got mine a couple of days ago. That was one sweet one hour read!!
  2. They say the next WR bass will be worth one million bucks. What are you gonna spend it on?
  3. I like C-rigging lizards and finese worms, drop shotting Senkos and finese worms,flippin'/pitchin' tubes, brush hogs, sweet beavers, and assorted creature baits;split shotting lizards and finese worms;and rigging weightless T-rigged Senkos and Zoom frogs.
  4. I voted Zoom because I use them quite alot, but my favorite plastics weren't mentioned. My favorites are Strike King Flippin' tubes,Culprit worms,Senkos, FLW Finese worms, and 3X plastic lizards.
  5. I use and love the 3X lizards.I love to C-rig,and where I fish it's VERY grassy. The 3X lizard floats above the vegetation. As for rigging the bait on a hook,I don't have any problems. Those things last forever.I've not had problems with missing fish, either.I just skin hook 'em.I've had some good results with hook ups.
  6. After reading an advertisement on Lure Tamer,I might just change my mind.I carry many rigs when I fish (12-14) and could use something to keep baits from becoming entangled.I've tried every way known to man to cure that problem, and I just keep getting tangled baits.
  7. I like floating jerkbaits(Rapala and Rattlinrogue) and buzzbaits the best.I've had alot of success with prop baits(Torpedo,Devils Horse) also.
  8. By the way,I learned 99% of my different techniques from reading you guys posts.I've truly learned much from some great bassers on this forum.
  9. I'm probably a 4 and a 5.I really get into learning new ways to catch bass..Three years ago you would not have caught me dropshotting,C-rigging,flippin'/pitchin',etc,but now those are the types of fishing I love best.Of course,I want to catch bass, but I've gone days where I just pitched and didn't have much success.I had a ball just trying to get better at my technique. As for sportsman stage,I keep no fish, and I won't get big bass mounted.I catch 'em,weigh 'em,and take a picture(if I remember to bring a digital camera and/or a scale).I really don't care if people think my accounts of catching big fish or big limits are a load of bull.Just me knowing is good enough .
  10. Hopefully this loss will nudge Little Nicky on to Alabama where he belongs.WHO DAT TALKIN' 'BOUT BEATIN' DEM SAINTS!!!!
  11. I'm truly sorry to hear it.He was a very entertaining performer.I think I liked watching him dance as much as listening to him sing.
  12. And a new coaching job(the bible will probably come in really handy). After a year out of football coaching (retired),I couldn't stand it anymore.I'm still retired and receive my pension, but now I get to coach with no teaching assignment and get a coaching paycheck added to my pension. It was truly a Christmas present that happened 5 days before Christmas.A lot of prayers went into getting a second go around in the coaching biz.
  13. Good looking boats that evidently will get you to your fishing hole.Love him or hate him,it's a move that will surely put the Basscat name out there more than in the past. It's already working,ie, this post and conversation on it.
  14. I'm a recreational basser who likes to catch double digit hawgs and get just as much pleasure catching a limit of 1-2 pounders. We're all just bass fisherman. Some put their time and effort into exclusively hunting for hawgs and some are into tournament fishing. We are all bass fisherman.I don't think there's really any reason for being arrogant about bass fishing. Now,I can understand being proud of catching big bass or winning bass tournaments, but that's just human nature. Some states have bigger bass than others.A 10 pounder in your state may be as good as a 20 pounder in another state. It's all about doing what's fun. When bassing becomes not so much fun because you're worried about keeping up with the Jones instead of just enjoying the moment, maybe it's time to find another activity that brings you enjoyment.
  15. That's just a little too obsessed with bass fishing for me.
  16. I have two that usually gets the action going when when the bass won't cooperate.I like a downsized 3/16 white Strike King tandem spinnerbait(gold willowleaf over silver Colorado). You can hit the banks throwing at wood cover or skim it over a grassy bottomed flat(just above the grass).Just get in a groove and go fishing making as many casts as your arm can handle. My other "go to" bait is 180 degrees in the other direction.I'll use a spinning rig(7 ft rod) with 8 lb Berkley Vanish on the drop shot rig.I like #2 or #4 Daiichi finese hook.I'll nose hook either a 4" Senko (green pumpkin/watermelon) or a green pumpkin FLW finese worm.I'll either cast and SLOWLY retreive with frequent stops alternating between subtle shakes or deadsticking. If I find a drop off with bass stacked on cover,I'll fish it vertically ,again with subtle shakes or deadsticking.

    Man,that's a great price!The cheapest I've seen that gun is $238.00.

I own several handguns(Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag,Smith and Wesson Airweight .38,Taurus .45 Auto),but I'll go with Raul on home protection.Under the stress of being broken in on with life and death consequences,I'll go with my Rem 1100 w/3 inch #1 buck. It's had some really devastating results on deer.I'd get the hell out of Dodge if I was looking down the business end of any shotgun.
  19. Jet skiers, ski boats, and pleasure boaters cause me more than my share of boat rage moments.Even though I fish on a public lake and everyone has a right to be there, lots of these people are pretty thoughtless when it comes to other boaters.I was always taught that when you go by a fellow fisherman, you slow WAY down so that you don't ruin his/her fishing spot.Just my 2 cents.
  20. I have several that I use.Berkley Big Game,XL,Vanish,and Yo-Zuri Hybrid.
  21. Yes and no.Sometimes I do match the trailer to a predominate color in the jig,but mostly the trailer will be a contrasting color. It depends on conditions.Experiment with certain color combinations and come up with some that work for you in various conditions.

I carry alot with me.Besides the spinnerbaits in the bait box,I'll have 2-3 of each of my best colors still new in the package that I carry along in a separate box.Better too many than not enough.
  23. As was stated earlier,it can be used in many different ways.T-rig it,C-rig it,drop shot it,and fish it weightless. My favorite use is to T-rig it on a pegged flippin' rig,and pitch/flip it like I do with a flippin' tube.
  24. I've caught bass both with and without trailers on my jig,it just depends on what the fish are looking for.I mainly use trailers(#11 Uncle Josh pork frog) when I use a jig though.I prefer plastic trailers in cold water.
