  1. I was also shocked the day he was murdered by a madman.Althiugh I liked John Lennon,Paul McCartney was my favorite Beatle.Needless to say Lennon was truly a Musical genius, and a passionate spokesman for his beliefs.
  2. I'm also a Pantera and Dimebag fan.Yes,it was a true shame what happened to him.Seems like many of the greats leave us before their time, but we'll always remember them through their art.Although I like Dime's lead solos,I always thought his genius was his catchy and brain numbing rhythm riffs.I was listening to "Cowboys from Hell" a few days ago,and this song is a prime example of his rhythm guitar greatness. He also played a great solo on that song.RIP Dime.
  3. Welcome to a truly fun and learning experience. As Bucketmouth said, fish slowly this time of year. Also,be patient.Don't judge your fishing trip on how many you catch(and release,I hope).Think of it as a learning experience, and any bass you catch is just gravy!
  4. I taught myself to pitch during the 19 days without electricity or a job to go to during the aftermath of Katrina.there was nothing else to do but clear trees with my chainsaw and (for a little recreation)practice pitching.I just pitched to various targets that I had set up.The hardest part was setting the baitcaster just right,so I didn't backlash every pitch.
  5. This is gonna sound crazy. With all of the various ways to fish plastics,my least favorite is an old standby.I LOVE fishing drop shot rigs,C-rigs,flipping/pitching tubes and creature baits,Senkos, and the split shot rig.The old time favorite that I USED to rely on and caught a ton of bass on,now bores me to death. The Texas rigged worm.
  6. I've learned several new techniques while on this forum.I've pretty much fished and mastered most all of the "Eastern" power fishing methods and several others. The drop shot rig has really improved my fishing,as a matter of fact,it's probably my favorite go to bait when things are tough. And that's just to name one. There is one bait that I've tried and didn't meet much success.I really need to learn the swim bait, and I need to go ahead and buy some high quality baits.I bought and used some of the cheap swim baits .They've done nothing for me.I realize that these baits, used correctly, are dynamite, and you get what you pay for so I want to get some high quality baits.I need to take the time to learn the correct use of the swim bait.
  7. In my boat.Bassin' season never ends for me,so I keep it where it needs to be.Ready to go fishing at a moments notice.
  8. I'm sure there are already several juiced players in the HoF so why not MM?I know,I know what proof do I have.Well, what proof does anyone else have that there aren't?If Bonds gets in then so should MM.
  9. I visit several bassin' sites, but this is the only forum that is worth being a part of IMO.I've been on others in the past, but it was all one,big argument.I'll just stick with good ole Bassresource.com.
  10. To each his own,I guess.I disagree with the message that they are spouting about not only fish but all animals. They are entitled to their beliefs, but they cross the line in their crusade to force their views on everyone.Just one more goofy special interest group that think they know what is good and right for everyone. These people are simply extremists that flirt with ecoterrorism. Many of their methods of "activism" are just plain criminal, and I consider this group, criminal.
  11. I have a few, and they are good bass catchers.I have many others that outcatch them, though.
  12. 12.2 on a Rattlinrogue floating jerkbait(used as a topwater bait) on 07/05/2003 at 6:35 AM in 3 feet of grassy, stump filled flat.
  13. I like to pitch/flip a Brush Hog,Baby Brush Hog,and a Sweet Beaver.
  14. I use several different baits and techniques during winter.I like dragging a c-rig with a finese worm or 4" Senko around deep cover. Also, dragging a downsized jig and trailer around deep cover has been good for me.A drop shot rig with a finese worm/4" Senko is one of my favorites.I even use a deep diving crankbait in a crawfish pattern some.I caught a 9 lb bass on one last winter. On unusually warm days ,I'll go shallow and bump wood cover with a spinnerbait or use a suspending jerkbait. The key IMO is to fish these baits sloooowww.You won't get a ton of bites, but they are usually bigger than average bass.
  15. I've told a fishing partner more times than you'd think "let's make one more cast and leave" ,then one of us catch a bass.Needless to say, that extra bass was good for another hour of fishing.
  16. I use 10 lb test on medium and deep diving crankbaits. For shallow water cranking,I'll go with 12-14 so that I don't bury the cbait in thick grass every cast.
  17. For crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and suspending jerkbaits I'm using glass rods right now,and they perform well. For everything else,I use graphite.
  18. I'm using Big Game as my mono right now,but XL is probably the best overall mono.I'm using Yo-Zuri 20 lb as my pitching/flipping line and it's the best thing I've used for my particular situations.I use Berkley Vanish for all of my spinning reel finese rigs.It does well on my drop shot and split shot rigs.I also use it as a leader on Carolina rigs.Sorry about getting off the original question.XL is some fine mono, but where I fish Big Game is a more logical line for me at this time.
  19. Hard to name just one,but I mostly use C-rig w/Various plastics,spinnerbaits,crankbaits,and flippin tubes.
  20. I've caught lots of bass using 3X and Zoom lizards in green pumpkin, watermelonseed, and black w/ blue tail.In the cooler/colder months the FLW 6" finese worm in green pumpkin and the 4" Senko in green pumpkin/watermelonseed have done well for me.
  21. I use a floater more as a topwater bait, with great results. On the other hand,I use suspending baits in cool and cold water conditions to put the bait in a bass's face and entice a lethargic fish to strike.I've also used LC Pointers in warmer water to catch 'em.
  22. Boy,I've got so many.Let's see.I like Led Zep,Black Sabbath,ZZ Topp,Yes,Ted Nugent,Rush,Robin Trower,Boston, Aerosmith,311,Audioslave,Pantera,Slipknot,Rolling Stones,AC/DC...I'm gonna stop.There are so many more.
  23. Bassin is a great mag full of" how to" articles.
  24. LBH,that is so cool.Reminds me of when I was a kid.Lots of memories in that shack...and lots of fishing stories too!
  25. I speak with a Southern accent, and it's not an issue with me.A Southern accent may sound ignorant to many non-Southerners,but don't be so narrow minded that you actually believe it.What you see on tv and on many movies is NOT an accurate depiction of what it's like and how we sound down here.
