  3. awesome design and workmanship
  4. You've got the whole water column covered and the right rods to do the job. Thats what I'd bring. Good luck
  5. well he was very very smart to bring his vest and pole. Some of the young guns aren't that smart, I suspect.
  6. PM Tokyo Tony and ask him what brand of canoe he has. Its really wide and stable to stand in and its not a high end one. Plastic is better than alum or fiberglass in my opinion
  7. I had a hook in my lip from a friend casting behind him 20 years ago. My buddy's dad cut the hook and pulled it out point first. I can still feel him threading it through to this day. The hook also had worm guts on it. I thought the duy in that video was gonna get the other hook in him too as he pulled it out.
  8. My friend has a boat like yours--old 12'er and 2 adults can't stand without that fall over feeling. I have a 9' Grumman 1996 semi v hull that is very stable. I don't need to worry about stabilizing myself when my buddy casts or moves suddenly. I will not buy another alum row boat without a water test first for stability. What about dock buoys extended out like a catamaran on a rod?
  9. You don't need a boat!!! Join the BASS Federation and look up you state Fed tournaments and sign up. They will match you. Thats how you make the state team. Good luck
  10. to me the float and fly is like ice fishing. If your flag is going up and you see the spool spinning its a rush. But its the in between time thats boring. I don't 'wait' for bites. I'm a very impatient fisherman.
  11. -isolated cover like wood -chum -waterpump for flow and oxygen the feeder was a great idea
  12. I'm sure your professor will understand if you would rather fish. You will always be a great fisherman. You don't want to dissappoint the rents Turn down the offer and say "Next Year I'll be back" You will need a degree to fall back on
  13. I use it for my wacky rig rod even in lilly pads. 10 lb test as well as most of the guys in my club. We all like it for that technique. Some also use it for carolina rig and soft jerkbaits.
  14. there were a bunch of threads last year on this amazing and boring technique.
  15. Wind, in general, distorts the image of a lure on or near the surface. Thats why buzzbaits and burner spinnerbaits work better in wind. Bass feel more comfortable slamming bait on the surface in wind too. I do know what a wind shadow is because I sail a Hobie Cat Catamaran. I always look forward to wind shadows. A wind shadow lasts only for a couple seconds on windy days as they come and go. I don't think they make a difference either way but I'm really not sure
  16. just change the oil in spring and fall and mid summer if you use it alot. thats the beauty of it use high octane gas and no mix
  17. call your town hall and ask them how every town should a hazardous waste day
  18. Impossible, unless the lead granules are microscopic, and part of regular dust particles. Pure lead will not be disbursed through the air. Yes I am talking about microscopic this is from the EPA website: > Dust can become contaminated with lead when lead-based paint is dry scraped or sanded. Dust can also become contaminated when painted surfaces bump or rub together. Lead chips and dust can gather on surfaces and objects that people touch or that children put into their mouths http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/leadrev.pdf
  19. technically jerbaits are for clearer water and great after ice out, but fish can't read books. If you're feeling it, try it. jerkbaits have rattles too. yes the fish should be shallow in the sun don't forget lipless cranks and the colorado blade is a good idea
  20. wow thats sweet probably worth 5K????
  21. What does the drag have to do with casting? :-? I meant the other knob--sorry
  22. I went to URI --grad in '95 in Biology mostly saltwater for me there--love blackfish for dinner with Nattie. Burnside dorm first Lived in New Eastward Look on Lincoln and Down near Charlie O's then in Charleston. Go Rams
  23. the gas you're tossing was probably bought for $5 a gal. better to play it safe and give the gas to somone else. ;D repairs will be much more than $40
  24. I used to pull a 17' fish & ski boat with a 75 honda with my 96 toyota Tacoma V6 and that thing used to have trouble going up hills--although it weighted more than 1600lbs my motor alone was 350lbs
