Wake baits today
I watched Tokyo Tony use one the other day and a bass just slurped it under rather than slamming it. Never saw the strike. Is this common?

stubborn fall smallies
maybe they are on the move I know that as the weather cools they gorge especially on craws because they fatten bass faster with "blubber" for "hibernation" Keep searching--you are on the right track. When you find them, I assure you, hold on somtimes I go deep aroung rocks and just catch largemouth in my smallie areas

Dying vegitation
I am my source I have a Bachelor degree in Botany from the University Of Rhode Island I know that Bacteria exist everywhere and are responsible for breaking down carbon molecules but the question was why the oxygen is depleted and I'm telling you that it oxygen bonds to the carbon molecules from the sugars breaking down. Thus less oxygen in the water. Simply a chemical reaction

hello thanks for the intro

Heat as a biproduct of reverse photosynthesis
Rotting veggies create heat for the same reason compost piles create steam. Do you think that cooling water would draw bass into shallows for warmer water even though the oxygen is depleted? What if its windy or rainy to stir up the oxygen?
-
Dying vegitation
Sorry J Francho thats incorrect, its not the bacteria The carbon building blocks break down into Carbon Dioxide (CO2) thats where the oxygen goes there may be bacteria that eat plants but they don't use enough oxygen to matter
-
Dying vegitation
Yes dying weeds consume oxygen= no bass go shallow for warmer water or flowing water or go deeper for schooling bass with cranks as a search bait do some research here on fall patterns and lure choice good luck

Private vs. Public Lakes
Private lakes rock --20 bass on a bad day but culture shock when tournament fishing pressured public lakes 8 hrs to catch a dink limit stinks

Pesticide Treated Water
Herbicides are Pesticides by the way they are classified, but pesticides are not herbicides figure that one out Amston Lake in CT used to lower the water to kill weeds in the winter but some peoples wells were going dry so they don't do that anymore. They want to spray but it keeps getting voted down. Thankfully. I've heard of fish kills due to this. Now the lake is very weedy--its great for bass

flouro...
I've always used Berkley floro on all my rods. I'm semi happy with it. From 8lb on dropshot to 12lb on jerkbait and crank rod to 20lb on my flippin stick. Very few heartbreaks--most from Pickeral. my biggest concern is line twist and memory. I've always been afraid to swich plus Berkley is not as tough on the pocket as some other brands
