  1. Nice review. By the looks of that scum line, looks like you're perfectly balanced and low profile on the water. Now you just gotta get some fish slime all over the deck.
  2. I'm not sure how you'd introduce a fish to another water with a plastic boat.
  3. Thanks for that info. I had bad experience with Fluoroclear as well. I think, like Vanish, it's actually designed for walleye fishing, not bass. We subject our line to much more abuse. Both lines are two of the biggest selling lines for over a decade, so they can't be "crap" as many state in this thread. I think they're just the wrong tools.
  4. Always bet on the horse that poops in the paddock before the race.
  5. I don't get fancy. I hose it down if it gets dirty.
  6. I fish when I can. Only extreme wind/waves or lightning chase me off the water.
  7. If it's for starting the motor, you want a marine starting battery. If you're running a trolling motor, you want a deep cycle battery.
  8. Sounds about what I paid. Does a lot for that price.
  9. That could be a ton of things. Not sure anyone can diagnose it online.
  10. I run either a Helix 5 or Helix 7. Both are SI/DI and Lakemaster chips. Really, the 5 is plenty big. You're really close to the screen, and most often I'm split with either CHIRP/DI or CHIRP/GPS. For SI, I'm usually full screen, mostly scanning toward shore.
  11. I used them, along with Culprits. They both fell to the wayside when I discovered PowerBait.
  12. See ya!
  13. I though G. Pucci & Sons Inc. was in San Francisco.
  14. There is no difference. Most companies use stainless hardware, and the rest of the boat is made of plastic. Now, if you want to talk big water opposed to flat water, that's a topic for another thread. Not all hulls are designed for breaking surf. https://www.facebook.com/hobiefishing/videos/10155999829121708/
  15. Champlain is huge, but fishes small. There's fish all over the place. They should be chewing pretty good. Hope for some cool nights, and clear days. Fishing up here is great that time of year.
  16. The people that have them love them. Some of the love on social media is cult like. I feel like the storage options are weak, and with modern, stable hull designs, this design isn't necessary. I would have issues sitting in that straddling position all day. If you were considering one, I highly recommend some seat time, and not just a quick spin. I say that for any kayak purchase, but can't emphasize it enough for this one.
  17. It was snowing here too, but nothing stuck.
  18. Another term for flipping stick.
  19. If they are salted plastics, they come off for sure.
  20. If you search for "kayak handles" you'll find dozens of options.
  21. I like to have at least two extra holders than rods. That way, I have drop off location for unhooking a fish, or tying a new bait on.
  22. In my own bass boat, I might have 30 or more. Kayak is 3-6. Which ones I bring depends on the water I'm fishing.
  23. Indoor pool at Orchard Skate Shop in Alston (Boston).
  24. 8" seems like plenty of clearance.
