  1. Yeah, we get similar stories here. Bought a reel, broke first time out, never gonna buy from that company again. Then come the excuses as to why they couldn't return their defective merchandise. They're usually tall tales from people just looking for attention.
  2. And you thought you'd never use math again after school, lol.
  3. I'd think the same, except that every weedless hook I use has a Z-bend, so I'm linking that's moot these days.
  4. Who's paying for reviews? I want in! LOL! We get all sorts of stuff for review, and I go out and use the stuff, and write up my impressions and results. We're lucky here at BassResource.com that NONE of our sponsors are selling poor products. Once in a while, we get a defective product, or find a manufacturing flaw. It happens. We go straight back to the company, and work with them to correct the issue. My big take away from this exercise is that there isn't a ton of junk out there, even at the low end budget price points.
  5. Four score and nearly twelve years ago... Still a good discussion topic.
  6. I will always catch more bass on hard baits. Why? Because I throw them more than other baits.
  7. They look like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
  8. Atlantics have been making a comeback.
  9. I've had a couple fires, but haven't turned on the furnace, yet.
  10. Nice mud sharks! A bonus Atlantic is pretty cool, too.
  11. I see, so more like a cowgirl than a typical bass bait. Thanks!
  12. Here's a couple of some rainbows. Buck: Hen:
  13. Lol, that's also a tell-tale sign. Same would go for eggs squirting out.
  14. *Duplicate threads have been merged.
  15. We generally fish for what's in our locale. I'll take the variety of species, variety of waters, lack of hurricanes and gators, and the harsh winters over Florida any day of the week. I like catching big smallmouth, but I prefer power fishing for largemouth. I have been to Florida many times, and fished, every February, after the strawberry festivals, and it's nice to visit.
  16. None that I'd trust. However, I've caught plenty of northerns using plane mono type line, but that's usually with a moving bait. Spinnerbaits offer some protection, being made out of wire.
  17. If he caught it inshore or in a trib, and it's kyped up, won't matter - the fish will die soon.
  18. That's a nice fish. Congrats!
  19. That's nice, but the discussion is specifically LMB vs. SMB, so let's stay on topic. My belief is that if you're in it for a fight, bass is not the species to chase. The reason I fish for bass is the chess match that catching them regularly, and of larger size, presents. If I want a fight, I have northern pike, muskie, salmon, trout, steelhead, carp, etc. all available in the same waters I fish for bass.
  20. It's just a 1/0 Owner trailer hook. If he's getting 5 lbs. of weeds with it, chances are he'd get 5 lbs. of weeds without it. You can't just burn it through slop.
