Hey there FFI, send me a PM with an update. We're still in the middle of the insurance stuff. Regardless of what anyone said about lawyers and insurance companies, MY EXPERIENCE with the insurance company has been less than awesome. I ended up turning it over to a lawyer after the claims adjuster failed to return 12 (that's not a typo) phone calls. When she did call back, she thought we were someone else. Then, after correcting her inverted anal-cranial she went on to say that we weren't entitled to lost wages. Whatever.....I'll let a pro sort this one out. I don't want to open that can of worms again. Anyways, it's good to be back in full swing.
  2. yeah, sorry about that. I just couldn't help myself. I apologize.
  3. I just ordered one and it should ship out tomorrow. I'll post with first impressions and other stuff when it comes in. I'm pretty psyched about this one.
  4. I bought the 7'6" H to replace a diawa light and tough. I've been happy with it thus far. It's not an extremely sensitive rod, but I think that some of that is due to the nature of a 7'6" heavy action rod. I tried the one you listed and it was pretty moderate for a moderate rod. Really "whippy" if that makes sense. The bend was certainly in the middle area of the rod. Don't know if that's good or bad for what your looking for. Both have a good handle length.
  5. sorry in advance micro: Fishtank: I saw your quote and thought you might like to hear that I have an autographed copy of fight club that read "I am Josh's book", an obvious reference to the series of books written by an organ in the first person i.e. "I am Jack's raging bile duct." It's in a display case with one of the bars of pink fight club soap. Helluvan author that Palahniuk is.

I went to St. Lucia in the west Indies. It was awesome. We stayed at the sandals regency for our honeymoon. At first I was leery of the expense because we booked a pretty lofty package, but it was totally worth it.

Hello again, I've been absent from regular forum visits for months. In the last 4-5 months I've: sold a truck, bought a truck (tundra), got an imac, left the country, was re-assigned at work, and got married. I was just too busy to spend much time here. Now that everything is over, I'm looking forward to catching up with all the good people of the forum.
  8. On the topic of trailer hooks: I switched over to the g-stinger hook that gamakatsu makes. I'll never go back. I think it will make the traditional shanked trailer hook go the way of the dodo.
  9. they just started to do this in KC. The intersections have to be marked if they are "recorded"..... There has been some degree of argument over this with the PD/FD/EMT. If a first responder is "caught" running a red light then he/she is responsible for the ticket. At face value that seems logical but, say you have a situation that is a justifiable emergency and the person you need is close. He either has to turn on his lights and sirens to go two blocks, around the corner, down the street, etc. or run the light and pay the ticket. I think that some cities may see an increase in response time as a result.
  10. totally heresay, but, I heard the ridgeline was front wheel drive. edit: I ended that sentence with W-T-F and it was changed to "I don't understand".
  11. Sorry in advance. This is only available to gov't employees, military, or emergency response (cops, EMT, firefighters). usstandardissue.com it's a site that sells oakley products direct to people who need them vs. want them. You'll have to fax them a copy of your I.D. and they'll register you to the site. I got a pair of polarized oakley fives for 60$. the regular lensed fives were only 35$. Huge discounts on stuff like gloves, bags, boots, etc. I thought some of you might be interested in the discounts.

Sorry about duplicating the post. I should have searched harder before I asked. Another question: I've seen some sets that have a neoprene inner cuff on the jacket. Does the guidewear have this?

Anybody loyal to any kind? Anbody have a good testimonial about bibs or jackets? I'm thinking about getting a set of BPS 100mph bibs and a north face rainjacket.
  15. good deal, thanks a lot fellas.
  16. I think the original poster said that he did'nt want to take NO-xplod as it's given him headaches in the past. If it were me, I would'nt drink a lot of caffeine as an alternative. If it's just the energy boost that you would miss, you could get a bottle of B vitamin mix and take one or two or 15 of those before you workout.
  17. Do you already have your lodging set? The bradford inn is pretty tough to beat. There's a new BPS at the eastern end of branson in the old town right on white river. It's pretty awesome if you're notching the belt with BPS visits. If you can get away with it, the stone hill winery has a free tour that includes sampling product. My wife and I dug that a lot when we were there last year. Titanic was very cool, but go in an off hour because you lose alot of the effect when it's crowded. You'll wear headphones and the entire museum is interactive. When they talk about the angles of the boat as it sank, you actually can stand on a section of deck tilted at that angle, etc...... I like silver dollar city but I'm old school. The roller coasters are pretty awesome. I still have a mississipi long rifle cap gun that I got on a trip my family took as a kid. Be warned, the blacktop gets hot in the summer and will be around 15 degrees warmer than regular temp.
  18. Watch the videos and workouts from sites like gymjones.com or crossfit.com and duplicate in a way that is safe and manageable for you. Find something heavy, pick it up, and run with it. Get to a rowing machine and row. set a goal that is hard and try to achieve it. find a rope and climb up it. You can combine your cardio and "lifting" but it's hard and most people don't like to do it. If you use your body it will compensate.
  19. Before you get a boxer, here's a couple of things that are the downsides. Other than these, boxers are a really great dog. Boxers slobber and will get it on anything that contacts the inside of their jowels, or when they rest their head. They shed just like any other dog. Because the hair is short it burrows into other fabrics. They can be pretty gassy. This was my experience, I'm sure others have had different. Mine was a quality bred dog as well.
  20. Any ideas? I have a matrix 27 mounted on the console of my rig. Whenever I turn on the outboard the unit does one of a few things lately: 1. loses it's depth signal, blinks, then shuts down 2. Won't stay on. 3. runs, but reads something inaccurate (736 feet i.e.) It's only when the outboard is on and just started recently. I have a shoot-through ducer mounted off-set in the rear of the boat. 18 foot nitro with a 90 merc.
  21. dogs, dog breeds & dog care by dr. peter larkin. best all-around resource for the person who wants a dog but does'nt know which one. All have negatives. All have positives. All are better than cats.
  22. fellas, My wife (in a month) and I will be going on a trout fishing trip with my father-in-law (in a month) to a stocked stream. Bennett springs if you know it? I'm thinking I may be able to use this as an excuse to by a shakey head rod since she'll need a lighter action rod for the trip ...... I spend about 99.9% more time bass fishing rather than trout. What rod should I get that will pull double duty well? I was thinking a 7'-ish M/L action St. Croix Avid. What do you think? Any other suggestions are welcome.
  23. 28. I don't ever feel older though. I just have to do more.
  24. I don't know about every other state, but in MO there is a move over law that should require that everyone get over for officers during a traffic stop. It's not always enforced by municipal court judges though. That and you can't fix stupid. Too bad this thread petered out. I guess it only takes one d-bag to ruin it for everybody. At any rate, thanks to everyone who tried to help out.
