  1. How about one really big one more. OH Ivie lake record? 17.06lbs https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=510256320725897&set=pcb.510257247392471
  2. I have no experience with Ark rods but a mag MH or H would b the most versatile.
  3. You never know until you try. Go for it.
  4. The story I heard is the FWC caught a guide with several hundred shiners coming back to the dock & they determined his take was illegal & made him release all of them.
  5. I was in the tire business with Goodyear for 15+ years managing several tire stores. @Glenn believe the tire manufacturer for advice on the tires care & maintenance. They are responsible for the warranty not the auto manufacture. Car dealers & manufactures will recommend air pressure to increase ride comfort at the expense of tire wear. They don't care if your tires wear out prematurely. Maximum air inflation for any tire either passenger or trailer will give a stiffer ride because it stiffens sidewall movement & deflection. In the case of trailer tires they are usually rated as 4 ply, 6 ply or 8 ply. Load range B , C or D. The higher the load range or ply rating increases the maximum air pressure the tire is designed to carry. The same tire size increases the weight carrying capacity as they increase ply's. As already mentioned tires fail from heat build up. You can control the amount of heat build up by not under inflating your tires & purchasing the correct load range for the trailer. All trailer tires should be set at the maximum pressure stated on the sidewall to insure maximum performance. Air pressure should always be checked cold after sitting over night and before driving on them. The lower the tire air pressure the higher the heat build up. Overloading also increase heat build up. Boat dealers have been known to skimp on trailer specs including tire specs & axle requirements in order to reach a price point in the market. Especially on starter boat price points. Air pressure readings decrease about a pound for every 10 degree outside temperature drop. As a consumer you don't need to worry about air pressure build up when you set the pressure at the maximum recommendation on the sidewall except for gross overloading.
  6. Deps 115 https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Deps_Slide_Swimmer_115_Glide_Bait/descpage-DSSG.html Also look at the Gan Craft jointed claw 128 or 148 size
  7. d**n. You were already sore from your last fishing trip. Better take it easy & heal quickly.
  8. The rest of the world excluding North America does it regularly because of the popularity of American music.
  9. Yea but you know it will be worth it.
  10. For a speedy retrieve I love using the Ima Flit. If you want to slow it down the Smithwick suspending Rogue and the Rapala Husky Jerk are hard to beat. All three are winners.
  11. People keep forgetting about that. Its been depreciating for as long as I can remember-74 years.
  12. Welcome to BR.
  13. Yep I must be getting really old. The half time shows have gotten progressively worse as I age. I switched channels right after it started.
  14. Congrats on the new PB & welcome to the DD club sir.
  15. Traps, swim jigs & bladed jigs, swim baits, crank baits, top water & the usual plastic baits all work well. You can almost pick your style of fishing & water depth desired throughout the system. Lee Harrelson would be a good choice as mentioned by Roadwarrior if he travels down there.
  16. You must understand that the best fishing for bass over 10lbs occurs in northern FL. Then middle FL. Southern FL waters are the warmest & don't produce the numbers of fish over 10 as further north. Middle FL gets the most pressure because of the proximity to Orlando (think Disney) as a strong vacation destination. Like Geo G said Headwaters is managed to increase productivity and is catch & release just like Stickmarsh/Farm 13. I live about hour from Okeechobee and two hours south of Headwaters but I pick the further drive to enjoy better fishing. You can still catch a DD from Okeechobee but your chances are much better as you head north. If you google trophycatchflorida it is a state-run incentive-based conservation program for anglers catching largemouth over 8lbs The program has been in existence for 10 years & categorizes trophy catches into three categories between 8-10 lbs, 10-12 lbs & over 13lb. The FWC collects basic data & publishes it every year. It totals the number of bass caught per county & discloses what waterways they came from. Lots of statistics for you to mull over when searching for a place to plan your next trip. Obviously only reported data shows up.
  17. Yes. Roland Martin guides there too.
  18. Aaron Stickmarsh/Headwaters is part of the St Johns Water Management Area (SJWMA)
  19. Big O is fishing tough. Your chances for a trophy & numbers would be much better at Headwaters next to Stickmarsh near Fellesmere FL. If you go to O anyway try flipping/pitching. Look for clean water area with healthy vegetation. The numerous sprayed areas suck.
  20. The St Johns runs a lot further south than Lake George, The river becomes navigable in Sanford FL flowing north from Lake Monroe in Brevard counnty.
  21. Sweet PB. Congrats.
  22. Speed trolling Yo-Zuri jerk baits over the Marathon humps with spinning tackle produced for us years ago.
  23. Gary worked with Owner to develop this light wire hook specifically for his baits.
  24. Mags & super flukes. The 6/0 size is really not much bigger than the 5/0 by comparison but increases the hook gap a little.
  25. I have been using them for a couple of years. They work great for soft jerk baits & flukes. I use the 6/0 size mostly. I occasionally use them for worms.
