  1. Local and state elections yes, presidential, I don't think so.
  2. Nothing that is worth saving is irrepairable, or easy. Hang in there, bro.
  3. Not if your going to send one to everybody on line right now, otherwise probably so.
  4. A friend of mine had a top of the line shimano(digital) he sold it and bought three patriachs with money left over and is more than pleased with them.
  5. Thanks, I bought three last year and only fished with one so was just curious.
  6. What? You have to tune the cavitron. Why and how? What do you mean by this. Is it supposed to be high C?(joke) But really are you talking about the way it runs or what?
  7. Been fishing since I was a kid, can remember catching sun perch with my uncles when I was a wee boy. My dad used to take me and family fishing on vacations and when he could getaway. One time when I was in my teens, we went to Amistad and I caught two bass at one time on my crankbait. I still remember to this day, thinking how heavy that fish was when I was reeling it(them) in, and being plumb amazed when I saw them two bass on that one plug. Got away from it in my teens thru thirties, would rather waterski and party then fish.I remember complaining about them fishermen on my water, now it's the other way around. A friend of mine got me back into fishing about ten or eleven years ago by going out to the local stocked trout and catfish pond. He would fish for the former and I would fish for bass. What really turned it into an obsession with me was when I went and fished a stock tank on a cattle ranch in central texas. I caught 2-6lb. bass all day long on a top water just cast out, let it hit, jerk, KA-SLAM. All Day. I was addicted, it was the best high I had since quitting doing drugs. Now this little guy named the bait monkey keeps bothering me, Buy, buy, buy. Alot like doing drugs, again. : After catching my personal best, that is what keeps me in the quest. To one day break that mark.
  8. Hey, Bass Fisherman, I'm still laughing this morning over your comments earlier in this post. Thanks I needed that. BY the way after reading this post I decided to check out Tackle Tour for myself, I found it very informative and even found a review for a Powell rod I just purchased and haven't got in yet. Found the review to be very positive so I'm glad with my purchase and feel like I'll be very happy w/ my purchase, instead of wondering rather I bought the right rod for my technique. So Yes I think it is a good site. Still chuckling though.
  9. You should of took ***(Brent) in with you. ;D
  10. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, that's funny.
  11. I would've thought rear wheel is preferred for hauling. It's getting the boat out of the water on a wet ramp where the front wheel drive will come in handy. I would be a little embarrassed, but that's just me.
  12. Until my wife finds out. I was supposed to spend that money at home depot. It will be delivered to office so maybe I can put off telling her for a while or just go hide it in boat, she'll never know. ;D
  13. O.K. you talked me into it. Ordered one today along with a Powell rod to match it up with. Should of heard the secretary at the office gasp over the price of it when I had her place the order for me. You got to love company awarded safety certificates and no accident bonus's. ;D
  14. Hey Fluke, I knew I should have posted here to begin with but it is a fishing story. I guess you remember Muddy's game. ;D
  15. Didn't mean to come across as a BassPro basher, it's just the nearest shop is 350+- miles from me so most all my purchases are done online. The free shipping from TW is a definite plus and deciding factor as to where I place my orders. And I to would rather get the feel for a rod before purchasing, but have to settle for online ordering and hope for the best. Oh, and I had to pay for my Bass Pro stickers. ;D
  16. As if it's not bad enough we have watermocassins and cottonmouths to worry about on the water. I drove in to town from the rig today to get some smokes and a burger and while I was there waiting I started looking at all the rattlesnake pictures on the wall. Came across one from a local newspaper showing a 5 ft. rattlesnake a guy took on his boat on a local reservior in southeast NM. The rattlesnake was swimming across the lake and when he came across the path of the guy fishing, decided that was enough swimming and crawled into the boat. The guy used his telescopic lure retriever to grab a hold of it. Who'd a thought? :-?
  17. A cheap way on the texas rig is after rigging soft plastic on hook to insert a toothpick thru the eye of the hook then cut off even with diameter of bait.
  18. 5" Yamamota swim senko, watermelon red green, 9-27-07 on Lake Amistad. 8#.
  19. I agree, I threw away my bass pro catalogs. Why pay those ridiculously high shipping fees and TW's costumer service is hard to beat, plus better prices.
  20. I absolutely swore not to buy any lures this year. Then I walked in walmart today, did good though and only spent 10$, 2 spinners and 2 cranks. I did however get a 10$ gift card when I purchased my turbo tax. Dang monkey wants me to go back and spend that on some more spinners, probably will as you can never have two many spinnerbaits. Also in the Classic edition of Bass Times saw an article about how tackle purchases help support our fisheries. Dang monkey is everywhere.
  21. We are men, we don't need no stinkin' instructions. However if you run across any on women I would be much obliged. ;D
  22. Yes, its called line twist. Respool or attach a swivel and make a leader. My personal best came on a swim senko fished weightless, texas rigged. Good luck.
  23. You might try your local library, I recently found two very good tackle books there, and I live in a small town. One was a heddon collectors and the other one was various manufacturers. I found out that one of the baits I got from an elderly neighbor when they moved was worth $300 and the book was from the '90s. Pretty cool.
