Lure Pass #1 About to kick off!
I feel the same way. I was really hoping Junior would 'man up' and make this right, but apparently he's not that kind of guy. He's shown everyone here what kind of person he is. It's a d**n shame, really. Had he made a post with some kind of sob story, I'm sure the members here would've swamped him with boxes of lures like they have done for others in the past. Instead he went out like a punk and stole from those who trusted him. Nice.

MH xfast or M fast?
If you're bank fishing, I'd pass on both and pick up a MH/F or a slightly longer M/XF. Some MH/XF rods have a tendency to feel more like broom sticks than fishing rods, which can limit your casting distance. If I'm fishing in an area with little or no cover, I prefer a M/F or M/XF for soft plastics.

Correction, he hasn't logged in since the 14th. I'm willing to bet he's been back and is following this thread.

Kodiak Boots
They're also made on a few different "lasts", so if one style doesn't fit you, try one built on a different last. This works the other way, as well. If you find a boot that fits your feet perfectly, you can change style of boot without changing the way they fit by buying one built on the same last.

Kodiak Boots
Wolverine and Georgia make comfortable boots, but the soles don't last me as long as the Red Wing "Aztec Super Sole 2.0". That's all I've been buying for the past 8 years or so, and have no complaints. Super comfortable, the soles last a long time and when they wear out you can drop them off at the RW store and have them resoled. Oh yeah, the free laces for life is pretty handy too.

Kistler Rods?
Local BPS had a bunch of them marked down to $89.99 a few weeks ago. I thought about picking one up, but I really don't need any more rods...hell, I actually need to get rid of a couple.

Quantum Rods?
I have the same rod paired with a Curado E7 and absolutely love it for 3/8-1/2 oz spinnerbaits.

Favorite Spinner Bait Brand
x2 The Wedge Plus and Icon have been working very well for me lately. In the past year I've bought a bunch of different brands/models, but the Stanley Wedge Plus in "Golden Bream" outperforms all of them on my local pond.

Anybody own a Kimber 1911?
Very true. The early Pro CDP was a great little pistol, but unfortunately Kimber no longer takes the time to properly hand-fit their parts during the assembly process. It's a shame, because they build some very attractive pistols and they've sold a bunch of them that function well...but I know I'll never own another one. I think there are much better options in that price range. Ok, I'm done bashing Kimber. ;D If you're looking for something nice in that price range the HK USP Compact .45 is sweet and can be configured for "condition one" carry like a 1911.

Kimber's customer servive is a joke. Their standard response to customer complaints is "Put 500 rounds thru it and call us back if its's still not working right." Hell, the stupid thing wouldn't go 500 rounds without a malfunction. : I put about 2500 rounds and $1200 thru it over a 5 year span and never did get it to function well enough to be trusted as a daily carry piece. It's funny, my $500 Glock has none of these problems. It may be uglier than a cartload of crushed buttholes and have some of the worst ergonomics of any modern firearm, but it goes bang when I need it to.

Anybody own a Kimber 1911?
I've owned two Kimbers, (an early pre-Series II Pro CDP and a Stainless Pro Carry II) along with a couple Colts and a pre-CZ Dan Wesson and while the Pro CDP was a decent pistol, the Pro Carry II was a total piece of crap. Plagued with problems right out of the box, it would lock the slide back after every 2nd or 3rd round due to a poorly manufactured slide stop. Replaced it with a Wilson Combat part and that problem went away. A few hundred rounds later, the mag catch broke and dropped my mag on the ground while firing. Replaced it with a factory part and discovered another problem. The mag catch hole in the frame was machined improperly (oversized) putting the mag catch too low in the frame, which in turn held the mag too low so rounds would hit the frame instead of the feed ramp. It probably wouldn't have been an issue had the factory mag catch been a bit larger to allow proper fitting (like most aftermarket mag catches) but unfortunately it wasn't. Add to that the numerous failures to return to battery due the Series II firing pin safety plungers not being radiused and chamber mouth not being fully radiused, and you have a pistol that wasn't even suitable to be a range toy, much less a serious defensive sidearm. My advice is to pick up a bone-stock Springfield or Colt and send it to a reputable gunsmith for tuning and reliability package, and leave the Kimbers in the case. I had over $1200 in my POS Pro Carry, trying to make it reliable enough for daily carry...and it never went more than a few hundred rounds without some kind of problem. Traded it for a Sig and never looked back.

Well, this sucks. What the hell am I supposed to do with $75 worth of Banjo Minnows, Helicopter Lures and Renegade worms?

Avid for plastics - need your help
X2 I picked one up a little while ago and it has become my "go to" rod, replacing both my Crucial and Johnny Morris Signature Series spinning rods. I like it so much, I replaced my JM Sig. MH/F casting rod with an AVC66MH, and will probably do the same with the rest of the rods in my arsenal.

Heartless scammer. **UPDATED**
IIRC, Ebay didn't creat Paypal, they "aquired" them several years ago. There were numerous security problems during the change of ownership and many, many folks got ripped off.

x2 I've been eyeballin' it for a while now, but I'm actually looking to thin out my spinning rig collection so I've got a couple rods for sale. They only way I could justify buying one is if I sold one of my Symetres...but I seriously doubt that'll happen.

why does the forum take so long to load
It has always loaded slow for me, with the old computer and this new new one. It's fine once it loads, though. I'm a regular on a several other forums (a few with much more traffic than this site), and this is the only one that loads slowly.

Abu Garcia EXT problems
I had one for a while and found that the brake wasn't ideal for my style of casting. I use a snap of the wrist, kinda like cracking a whip, and the EXT would backlash almost every time. I don't have that problem with centrifugal brakes, so I sold mine and went back to what works for me.

Bait instructions
x2 Also, the same lure and presentation may not work on a different lake. The key is to figure out what the bass want. That's what keeps it interesting.

Crankbait, direct tie or snap swivel?
Norman Speed Clips on all cranks, but only after I remove the split ring.

Shipping rods
I just received a 6'6" MH Avid casting rod in a PVC tube. Seller paid a little over $17 to ship it from MA to GA via USPS.
