Rod Help?
I'll second the above. The Natural is tackle enthusiast who's recommendations carry a lot of weight in my opinion. Here is the link: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1257231359 Although I have never fished one I did check these out at BPS. Sweet rod for the money, almost bought one. I would definitely at least look at these.

Cabela's Guidewear vs. BPS 100MPH rain gear
I can not speak for the BPS 100 MPH but I have a set of Guidewear Insulated that I have used for 3 seasons. I was in driving rain at 50 degrees and was warm and dry. I use for early and late season Ice Fishing and stay warm. In between I use Ice Armor. I bought mine on sale in the Bargain Cave otherwise I might have tried the 100 MPH.

chronarch vs revo premier
I have a Chronarch D7 and an older Premier. I can not speak for the new Premeir. The Chronarch is much better if you have large hands. The Premeir is lost in mine. I do prefer the brake system on the Chronarch over the Premeir but of course this is the same for me on all Shimano reels. If you are looking for lightness and a smaller profile reel the Abu is what you may be looking for. Myself I prefer the Chronarch D over the older Premeir. I have not looked at the new version so I suggest you try to find someone that has both so you are compare.

Cheater (Robby Rose) caught, cuffed and stuffed.
I have been following this for a bit and really find this sad. He just did not know what he has lost. I do not fish tournaments but would love to. Other factors in life just does not allow me the time to dedicate to this. It takes extreme dedication and sacrifice to do what you love and to throw it all away for greed is just beyond my comprehension. It is one thing to cheat fellow fisherman but to cheat his family who probably sacrificed much is just sad. I would hate to be in his shoes.

Evolution Jigs
Brokeju/ David Pearl recommended to me, Dirty Jigs, for pitching. Had to try them as a California fisherman went to a Wisconsin supplier for jigs. Have to say these are outstanding. Great color selection, good hooks and finish on the heads. Weed guards did well in heavy grass. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
