  1. Wasn't Missouri derived from the word misery? ;D Yes. Early Missouri settlers found that living next to the state of Illinois left them in a perpetual state of misery thus the name for the state.
  2. The Argon is a great rod. I have the Worm Rod and love it. For the money the Argon at the same price as the Magnesium is the way to go.
  3. If you are looking for boots for Ice Fishing this is what I use. Would not use them for anything but standing on ice though, they are extremely warm. http://www.outdoor-headquarters.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=od&Product_Code=lacrosse600010&Category_Code=lacrosselarge
  4. Here is Fox Sports update. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/10241744/More-details,-but-still-no-suspect-in-UConn-stabbing
  5. Well sometimes things just work out. Good job!
  6. Uncle Leo replied to Triton21's topic in Everything Else
Nope we will drink it and recycle it. Can't let cheap wine go to waste.
  7. Here is a link on the Carolina Rig. http://www.fishin.com/articles/georgewelcome/C-rigarticle/carolinarig.htm Almost any soft plastic can be rigged on this. As the fish may be deep and negative you will want to work it slow. The RT Shad can use used but I would downsize some. Try a RT Baby Craw if the are negative. Check the barometer if it is snowing a frontal condition can make the barometer rise. I had some good days in foul weather so who knows. Good luck. Also if you can familar with the dropshot and T-Rig that may work. Keep in mind that if the bass are negative keep the bait in front of them as long as you can. Welcome you will learn a lot here. There are some good bass fisherman on these boards.
  8. Carolina Rig them, who knows if the barometer is on a raise you may do well.
  9. Congrats, tell the young man Godspeed from Uncle Leo and stay safe.
  10. If this is a Quantum I have heard the brakes make an awful sound when engaging.
  11. You need to try the Barbee Chain which is just south of Webster. Very good Bass fishing especially on Little Barbee and Irish Lake. Each lake has it's unique characteristics so you can always find something biting.
  12. Someone has a future Linebacker! Big Boy! Congrats!
  13. Good to see another Illinoisan (is that a word?) coming. Too many rednecks. Hey I'm from the Southside, I think I have a bit of Redneck in me. Also a White Sox fan not like them sissy Northsiders.
  14. X2 I also agree, in the Upper Midwest if you want to fish you will be faced with this. Or you could wait for first ice and grap a bucket. This seperates the men from the boys.
  15. Good to hear Ken! Take him ice fishing that will keep him dry!
  16. I have tried it, nothing special other then line watching. The Gold stands out in any light or water condition. I did notice that the abrasion resistance was below par. If fishing soft plastics where line visibility is important and re-tying is not an issue then not a bad line for the price. I fished in 38 degree air temps and 58 degree water temps and the line stayed fairly pliable.
  17. Nice bass Tony, I would say she pushes 5 lbs. Beautiful color!
  18. No BEANS? That is a travesty. You just have to have BEANS.
  19. You may look at this Booyah Jig for that application. http://www.lurenet.com/productdetail.aspx?id=byfh122 I have used the with Brush Hogs and Craws with good success. Hook is great for bulky bodies.
  20. I seen it coming!
  21. I am happy for Orton, as a Bears fan. Finally someone gave him a shot. To bad the Bears did not and put too much stock in Rex Gross man. GO BRONCOS!
  22. Thank you, I feel important now that you asked. For me it allowed enough time to learn from other anglers.
  23. Bears and Broncos in Super Bowl? That would be sweet! ;D
  24. At least she has a pretty good arm.
