Bandit Footloose wanna be with Larger Profile?
One to try which is a bit bigger is the Sub Wart. They are hard to find and colors are limited. I have caught as many if not more on the Sub Wart as I have on a Mann -1 and the finsih is much more durable. You can find them here. http://www.j-maclures.com/subwart516oz.aspx

Must have been a slow day in news.

Punching! Need reply fast please!
I think you may have that backwards. Inserts do tend to cut the line. Removing inserts from a inserted weight may also as the surface finish might not be as smooth as non-insert weights. Non-inserted is the way to go, no risk in fraying the line.

Fishing in the wind?
I try drifting with the wind when ever possible, afterall the baitfish will do the same. Use moving baits.

baitcaster line breakage issues
One thing to check is you spool tension. If it is set too loose the spool can have a gap between in and the frame. If 10lb line, somewhat small in diameter, gets between the spool and the frame the spool rim will easily cut the line when you pull to pickout. Too loose of a spool could be the cause of the backlash.

Number of bearings in a baitcaster question?
Amount of bearings has little to do with backlash. It is a function of brake adjustment, spool tension and a trained thumb. As long and both ends of the spools are suppported by bearings with proper adjustment and a trained thumb backlashes will be minimal. You need at least 2 bearings.

Question on Pickwick Dam Smallmouth?
No Pickwick Pro here but the SMB were very isolated on Pea Gravel or Rip rap. Fred's SMB went 7 lb 3 oz. I did get a 5 lb 6 oz but most of the others were in the 3-4 lb range. All the SMB caught were with LMB.

Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
Were you fishing a rocky area? No bradied line is abrasive resistance and I doubt 832 is. If rock caused this try a florocarbon leader. I have no experience with 832 but it does seem strange.

Back pain
I have herniated disc T1 and T3 and experience this all the time. Unfortunately the only relief you can get is constant stretching. I stretch before I get on the water on a Swiss Ball when available. Lay across the Ball and let your body curl across the ball. I have found a Swiss Ball allows for stretching in the full range of motion and provides the best relief.

Reel settings for pitching with a baitcaster
I always found that a trained thumb is the best for pitching. I keep my spool fairly loose, I do perfer a centrifugal brake ( half of the brakes set) but a magnetic should work fine. Your thumb should do most of the feathering and stopping of the spool. Keep in mind that distance will not be any where near as normal casting. With a loose spool and a trained thumb backlashes will improve and accuracy will be at an optimum. Practice, you will get the hang of it, I hope this helps.

snaps and spinnerbaits
My fishing partner uses the tubing on his spinner baits with snaps also uses snaps on crankbaits. Here is an interesting story. First off I always thought it was a bad idea. Risk of spinner bait rolling on a hook set. Well last summer we got onto a grest spinner bait bite. 101 bass landed total. Very few missed. He used this set up with CXX and I tied directly with braid. We fished a heavily reed filled area. Many snags. I never counted who landed what do to the fact that we were neck in neck. I still and will alwyas tie direct but I was amased at the result.

One more search for a rod.....
Chris if you can settle for a 7'6" rod Temple Fork has one that may fit the bill. Link attached. http://www.basspro.com/Temple-Fork-Outfitters-Gary-Loomis-TFO-Signature-Series-Saltwater-Spinning-Rods/product/10210092/-1754708
