  1. The Skeet Revo's are sweet man, I fondled one at the Classic Expo this year.
  2. The George Cochran Little Mr. Money spinnerbait (3/16 oz) is a compact spinnerbait that I've been using some this year with good results. The Stanley Wedge that someone mentioned is another good one. You might want to look at the Mini-Me by S.O.B. Lures also....that one's a killer....dont really know why but they smash it....it has the hidden weight behind the head.
  3. KVD has won the Classic using Quantum reels.....Quantum = super-tuned Zebco
  4. Welcome....we're glad you're here!
  5. tyrius, which oil company do you work for? Can you hook a brother up with a card for some free gas or something? You people are killin' us man! Has this started yet? I have not heard that it has.....are the oil companies just waiting on their 637 Gazillion dollars in QUARTERLY PROFITS to draw a little interest before they start or what? All this talk about doing this and doing that and the only thing that is actually happening is the price of gas going up DAILY. Its BS.
  6. I'm a little late arriving to the party but......WELCOME!
  7. When fishing at night and the shad are floppin', I am in a mindset that the shad are moving a lot of water and I need to do that with my bait also. Try a Thunderstick and reel it just fast enough that it rattles real good and its "waking" right under the surface....parallel with the bank is best (if the shad are near the bank) And dont be afraid to run it along in 2 inches of water banging it against the rocks. Another thing to try is a big deep crank (Poe's 400, DD22) but you just reel it a few times so it gets down only a foot or two, let it float back up, then repeat. Another two baits that come to mind are a jig w/ a rattle and a 10" + plastic worm. On my local lake that is filled with shad, the bass will bust a few shad and retreat to the bottom for a minute or two, thats when the bottom baits will get you a bite. These are suggestions for fishing around shad at night.....daytime is a little different. Don't catch 'em all.
  8. .....and yet another low blow to all tournament fisherman from a non-tournament fisherman : As for making the long run....if you're THAT confident you can win the tournament going that far and the sheer pride in winning outweighs the thirst for money, I say go for it. (but I'd go practice that area as close to the tournament as I could)

Fleury has been hot in the Playoffs and he will need to continue on like he's been doing for the Penguins to have a realistic chance to win the Cup. Detroit can score and they can score often. The Pens have been scoring well also but they're facing Osgood now.....he's 100X better than Biron (Philly) and has tons of Playoff/Finals experience.
  10. About the gear ratio on the handle seat....when BPS put up the first pics of the Revo S models, they had 7.1:1 on them. It was strange because they didn't sell a HS S model. This looks to be a slight play on the KVD and Code reels that just came out this year.
  11. That probably wouldn't be a very good idea although it is a good idea to start somewhere else. ;D
  12. Let's keep it clean fellas....
  13. Cover some water.....you will run into something sooner or later. That was Hank Parker's motto when he was on the Pro Tour.
  14. I like those real well....and for a jig with no rattles but hand tied skirts and top quality, try the Skinny Bear Elite football jigs.
  15. With water in the low 60's, I'd have two rods on deck. One with a spinnerbait, one with a jig. I would look for some rocky bank and go up and down the bank pitching that jig up shallow and drag it out to maybe 10 ft, then repeat. If you come across a flat or a point or some laydowns, grab the spinnerbait and go to work. The fish should be shallow right now and when the big fish quit biting with temps in the low - mid 60's, around here that usually means they are on beds. Look around for bedded fish. Good luck and dont get discouraged.....bass are hard to catch sometimes, thats just the way it is.
  16. Way to go guys! There's some stiff competition on that list!
  17. The higher level tournaments (BFL, BASS WE's, etc...) are draw tournaments. You don't know who you are fishing with until the day or night before and 99.9% of the people who you might draw out at those tournaments aren't cool with cheating. It happens in regular 'ol clubs though.....I've been in 2 different clubs in the past that people were caught cheating. One club was a team format and a team of brothers got popped getting fish out of a basket. The other was a Top Gun format and we had another guy pull the 'ol basket trick.....losers!
  18. Spinnerbait early, then a jig once the sun gets up high.

I was expecting Philly to have a long series with the Penguins but Timmonen? got hurt and apparently they can't win without him.
  20. The shad spawn happens right around bass post spawn time and lasts probably a month over different sections of the lake. This is when they come very shallow at night and the usual pattern to catch bass is to throw a Thunderstick, Red Fin or some other topwater bait parallel to the bank when the shad are up. I like to get out right about dark and just fish around until I hear the shad start floppin around shallow, then I position the boat right up against the bank and start chuckin' the topwater baits parallel. Sometimes you'll get a bunch of bites 5ft off the bank and the next night you have to throw it to where you're in 2 inches of water, banging your bait along the rocks.

I think the NHL should go ahead and inscribe Detroit Red Wings on The Cup. I dont think the Penguins can hang with Detroit....they are too fast and have the best mix of finesse players, role players and grinders of any team in the league and it shows. They are spanking a good Dallas team that knocked out a good San Jose team that some experts picked to win it all. Fleury needs to have the best stretch of his career if they want to beat Detroit. The Flyers haven't tested Fleury too much in the current series. Other than that, I don't like either team but if I had to lay money down, it would be on Detroit.
  22. No need to hate on tournament fishing again RW....you have to take what the lake will give you.
  23. You guys know that Burleyman is really just sandbaggin' on us dont you?....showing pics of dink after dink. : When the hot bite is over he'll post up all the pics of the hawgs he's been pullin' in lately. (no backgrounds of course) Come on Burley, show us a 2 pounder at least.
