Favre to retire
If he wants to skip camp he should just tell them he'll report a week before the season starts. No need to leak retirement talk again just to get out of camp. I wouldn't think his ego would let him end his career with a bad interception, just minutes away from the Super Bowl.

Kevin VanDam Wins AOY!
Yep. Clunn knows what's up and I agree with him 100%.

So whats more prestigious AOY or winning the classic?
I would have confidently said AOY is more prestigous if they hadn't changed to the current format BS. The Classic, in theory, is an easier tournament to win for an Elite Angler. You're only fishing against half the field (or less than half) and it's only a 3 day event. With the current AOY format in place, I'd say it's a toss up.

ESPN reaches agreement in principle to sell BASS
This is the best news I've heard all day. Jerry McKinnis knows a lot more about running BASS than BSPN does. Shhhhhhh...I think I hear Skeet praying for an AOY format change. ;D

KVD leads the pack on Alabama River....AOY in sight
KVD 'whacked 'em' today and leads the last postseason tournament going into the final day and could quite possibly ****** the AOY title away from Skeet Reese for the 2nd year in a row. Skeet's in 2nd for the tournament, about 3# behind KVD but in the point standings KVD is still 2 points behind Skeet. Aaron Martens is in the mix too, he has a decent shot at AOY. I bet Skeet doesn't get one minute of sleep tonight. Making up 3# on KVD is not an easy accomplishment but even if KVD does win the tournament, as long as Skeet finishes 2nd or 3rd he'll win AOY. Where's the "What happened to KVD" thread at now? ;D

Jig vs. Plastic
Same here. I think the people who get most of their jig bites on the fall are mostly flipping shallow water. Around here the 'flippin' scene isnt that great and we're constantly fishing 10' - 20' deep so dragging and hopping is king here. I get bites on the fall but only maybe 2 out of 10.

Russ Lane wins first post season event on Jordan
Next year it will be called the EOYA (End Of The Year Angler)...and BS should be worked in there somewhere.

Russ Lane wins first post season event on Jordan
If I was Skeet and I didnt win the AOY this year, I'd move to FLW just to prove a point. The AOY system that BASS has now is messed up. This will be 2 years in a row where Skeet should've been the AOY (via points at the end of the reg season) and he wont be. It's a shame too....Skeet was dominant this year. I'm not a big Skeet fan but I do call it like I see it.

Russ Lane wins first post season event on Jordan
Tough day for Aaron Martens. He had 20# in the boat very early then started having livewell troubles almost immediately so he released some big, dying fish. At the weigh in he ended up taking a 1 pound 8 ounce penalty for dead fish. Yet another tournament that Martens had in his pocket, only to see it slip away. Russ Lane is only 5 points behind Skeet in the AOY points race.

nose hooking flukes
The weedless finesse hooks work great when you're skipping under overhanging bushes/trees and when you want to fish around laydowns. You have to hook them right at the end of the nose. If you hook it too far back it kills the action and you will get more line twist. If line twist becomes a problem, add the smallest barrel swivel you can find about a foot up the line.

nose hooking flukes
I use the 2/0 Gamakatsu Weedless Wide Gap Finesse hook. It gives the bait a real erratic action when jerked and twitched at a fast rate and you can pull it thru some nasty stuff.

Cheater at the US Open
I hear ya Wayne. I read his partners statement and I feel sorry for the guy right about now, (assuming he had done nothing in the past when he and CHEATER fished together)

Tackle Warehouse Creature baits
Try the Owner Yuki Bug and the Yamamoto Flappin' Hawg. Both are good baits. The Biffle Bug has been getting a lot of love lately also. Havent thrown one yet but I plan on it.
