  1. X2 Gammys rock. Baits such as those need their hooks changed.
  2. Myself or a fishing partner that is catching more than I am
  3. I change the treble hooks on lures that come with low quality hooks. Such as some Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps. A good quality lure, such as a $6 one will most likely come with hooks that you don't need to change.
  4. Thanks Jason this definitely gives me confidence going into my first season fishing it.
  5. Like Jason said, both will catch you fish. But I think just the swimbait alone might be a bit better. I have a friend who used to slay them fishing this way, a small swimbait on a spinnerbait.
  6. Does anyone have opinions about this line? Thanks!
  7. I fish a lot of ponds near me in Butler County.
  8. I just purchased a few spools of Trilene 100% flourocarbon in hopes of trying flourocarbon and liking it. I will be using it for everything but heavy cover fishing, which I use braid for. I was going to use an arbor knot to tie the line to my baitcasters spools and polamor knots for all my lure tying. Does anyone see a problem with this? Any suggestions about the line and the use of it would be very very appreciated! Thanks, Christian
  9. 3/0 and 5/0 would probobly be perfect for whatever your flippin!
  10. Give me your best lures and techniques for early spring in PA! Thanks guys
  11. In a few weeks(Mid/Late March), I hope to get out for the first time to do some pond bass fishing. At best the water will be 45-50 degrees, but there will be a full moon so I figured it would be a good time to start fishing ponds. Does anyone have advice for what lures, techniques, and presentations I should use? Thanks guys!
  12. I recently bought a Jackall 4" hard swim bait in ghost blue gill color. I also bought a Tru-Tungsten 5" baby bass colored swim bait. I wanted some opinions on them and also whether you like to fish the Tru-Tungsten swimbait with 1 or 2 tungsten balls. Thanks guys!
  13. My 7: 1. Watermelon Dinger 2. Brown tube 3. Moccasin Culprit ribbon tail 4. Green Pumpkin chigger craw 5. Zoom trick worm 6. Mann's swim toad 7. Yum lizard
  14. My 5 would be: 1. Watermelon Dinger 2. Bluegill shallow crankbait 3. Brown tube 4. Red craw lipless crankbait 5. Green scum frog
  15. I just purchased a St. Croix Mojo baitcasting rod from Bass Pro. It's a 7'0" heavy rod and i'll be using it as a frog rod/flipping and pitching rod. I wanted to get some opinions on any St. Croix Mojo rod you have used, so any feedback would be appreciated.
  16. That fish looks to be a good bit bigger that 5 pounds. I'd say 7!
  17. I haven't tried it, but it looked pretty good when Dean Rojas was using it.
  18. I'm in the same area as you and so far lipless crankbaits, tubes, and jigs have produced the best.
  19. It's been cloudy all day and the rain is coming down. Going out in a few hours so, when the weather gets bad what lures and techniques do you use? I was thinking about flipping and pitching some of the nastiest cover I can find
  20. Caught 16 bass on my past 2 outings. All under a pound and a half. Still I'm feeling confident and on a roll!
  21. Went to a small neighborhood pond, and just crushed em! Today was the last day before an incoming cold front so they were very agressive. I mean they were slamming my Chrome/Black back rat-l-trap. That lure was the ticket. I caught thirteen and my buddy caught thirteen, all on the Rat-L-Trap. Pretty early for Pennsylvania but had a great day.
  22. We have had pretty nice warm weather the past few days up here, so I went to my best farm pond this afternoon. Fished for about 2 1/2 hours and got 3 bass. One on a baby bass crankbait, one on a jerkbait, and another on a soft plastic craw. Surprisingly, there were fish up shallow All three were pretty small but it was a great day
  23. I disagree, I always texpose and with a good, strong hook set, I almost never lose fish.
  24. Went out yesterday and today, and nothing. Going out tomorrow to give it another shot at one of my best farm ponds.
