I grabbed a tube of Megastrike at Dick's, as I had a gift card to burn. I never used any scents at all but figured yours may as well be the first based on the mostly positive reviews. To be honest, I can't really say it works or doesn't at this point in time. The bite overall has been tough for me this year, between the heat and my work schedule. The lubrication factor alone is a nice plus, I just have not got into enough of a consistent plastic bite to see if it produces more or not. We still have a couple of months to go here until freeze up, so I'll give it a fair shot until the end.

If what you are using works for you and you're happy with it, go with it. The only consideration I used to have was whether or not the rod guides were able to stand up to braid, which was an issue a number of years ago but not so much now. Braid will take a mediocre rod up a few notches in the sensitivity dept.

I own two Pflueger spinning reels and one Quantum. No issues mechanically with any of them, but the Quantum has the worst finish I've ever seen on a reel. I could stare at it and see it tarnish. It is a few years old and Quantum did have finish issues in the past, they may be past that now.

I've done ok tossing a tube into the boil. Then there are times no matter what I throw, they won't hit it.

White can be used just about anywhere, anytime for any predatory fish. The bellies of many species of baitfish, frogs, etc. are often white-ish in color. On a recent episode of Man vs Fish, the host was catching some type of mackerel (to be used as bait for larger fish) using only strips of a white t shirt jigged on a hook. That tells you a lot right there.

Hopefully that's what happened here. One of our "trophy" lakes is actually a spring fed former sand pit that produces 7 to 10 lb bass. At it's deepest it's 45'. I'm hoping they're hunkered down just waiting it out. I doubt any harm has been done, other then to my fishing, as there is plenty of forage available. Come on fall.....

You'll find another bait that kills 'em and it will make you forget all about it. I rember thinking the same thing about senko style worms years ago and now I don't even use them anymore.

Isn't it ironic how technology has made cars much safer each year but the people who drive them get worse every year ? It kind of cancels out any gains made. What's it take to get a license these days ? Do you have to circle the picture of a car on a sheet of paper with random pictures on it ? Do you get multiple tries ?
