inflatable pontoon boats
I'd look into one made by this company:http://www.sevylor.com/Boats-C40.aspx A few weeks ago I watched as two grown men got into one of this company's inflatable kayaks. I thought "Here we go, YouTube moment coming up" but to my suprise off they went without a hitch.

What have you purchased recently????? 2010
You've sure been around the block a LOT for a 15 year old. Is there anything that you haven't done? Oh, and when you take your girl to get a pedicure/massage does she ride on the back of your bike or does your mommy drive you? She has a license Lemme guess. She's a filthy rich socialite and you're her boy toy :

This sucks
I'm a diesel mechanic. Our company has a contract with a major healthcare system for backup generator support 24/7/365 at hospitals throughout New Jersey. Rest easy in ICU knowing I'm there... ;D

stick bait options ....
Hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes all carry o rings and shrink tube. A soda straw will work in a pinch but is not as durable. Bring a worm with you to be sure on the size. Side note, I love these hooks: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037619119810a&type=product&rid=0123456789&cm_mmc=PPC-_-Google%20Non%20Brand-_-fis_Terminal%20Tackle_Hooks-_-owner+mosquito+hooks

Lipless Crank Questions
One in particular that has done well for me is XCalibur's XrK series, which have one tungsten knocker instead of multiple rattles. Gives it a different sound. Another plus is the stock hooks on these things are brutally sharp.

stick bait options ....
I don't shrink the tubing, I use a size a tad smaller than the diameter of the bait. I cut the tube to about 1/4" long, then start the tail end (because it's slimmer) and gently pull the bait through until the tube is where I want it. I've never torn a bait, but mineral oil or any attractant will lube it enough to prevent tearing.

Plueger Purist Baitcast problem
The pawl itself could be worn or the pawl spacer is missing (items 15 & 16 on the schematic)

The end all thread
Agreed, but there's a fine line between a discussion of tackle and a thread deteriorating into nothing but the same ol same ol. I never intended to jab at anyone and their gear choices. Just trying to steer newbies away from a path that leads nowhere. If you suck at fishing with an Ugly Stik, you're likely gonna suck at fishing with a Steez.

World Clock
I hear ya. Not that smoking is good for you or anything, my old high school health teacher used to say "every cigarette you smoke takes an hour off of your life" Quiz time - what's wrong with this sentence ?

The end all thread
The thread was primarily aimed at some of the younger members who seem to be slanted toward a "better gear = better success" mindset. It does them more harm in the long run. If we could set up a scenario where we gave one of the young guys the exact same gear as you and put him in the same boat with you for a day, my money is on experience winning hands down. You didn't hand junior his rear end because of your Loomis rods and Shimano reels, you handed him his rear end because you have MORE TIME ON THE WATER. Nice gear enhances the experience, no doubt. But without the time earned, the gear itself is useless. The gear is .000001% of the total equation. You can't buy the rest. Gotta put your time in and school never ends for any of us.

deodorant question - totally random question
Megastrike. I don't even use a rod anymore, the fish jump into the kayak. The wife left and took the kids. The dog peed on my leg and left also. But hey, it's all about priorities ;D

The end all thread
After reading the 4,628th "what's the best" thread, it's time. The following applies to rods, reels, line and baits. - There is no best. Period. End of story. If you fish with brand X and you like it, fine. If you don't, don't bash (or praise) the other brands UNLESS you have actually fished with them for a considerable period of time. Basing your opinion on what "some guy said" is useless and lame. A lot of records were caught decades ago on gear that would be considered pathetic by today's standards. To borrow a line from SirSnookalot, "It aint the bow, it's the archer" There is NO substitute for time on the water. Somewhere out there is a guy throwing a dollar store bait with an Ugly Stik and a Zebco that can embarrass you pretty bad.

What have you purchased recently????? 2010
A massive slurpee from sheetz.... Massage and take her to get a pedicure/manicure. I find women really love those things, especially if your doing it with them ( I know, I know, heres my man card). But hey, if there happy, who cares!? 8-)... P.S. Dont forget the Slurpee You're not old enough to posses a man card. The required age as stated by the Man Union is 18 to become an apprentice man. At the ripe old age of 20 you can potentially be promoted to the rank of Man. Yeah.... Whatever you do, don't buy your girlfriend a fishing rod and say it's for her..... Yeah, what he said... Also, any metro behavior (Axe body spray, any grooming beyond shite, shower and shave, etc.) is punishable by a five year hold on man status.

bearings and drag washers
For drag upgrades go here:http://www.smoothdrag.com/ As far as Revos go, good drags out of the box but it's your call. I'm gonna get roasted for this one, let me get my asbestos suit on first... but I'm not convinced of the advantage of high $$ bearings; as in does the percieved extra distance justify the cost ? It's not like they're putting junk bearings in them to start with. I think there's somewhat of a placebo effect when it comes to bearing upgrades FOR THE AVERAGE FISHERMAN, not the small percentage who participate in casting contests. Ok, turn on the flamethrowers...

Just doing some pondering on a technique
I'm thinking the plastic had better be on the short side to eliminate fish striking the tail and missing the hook. A worm hook may not be the best thing for a fast reaction strike. How about a tandem crank setup ?

Rod and Reel Choices, 1/16oz and up
Consider snagging one of these in the 9025 size while they're still in the Bargain Cave.http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0053583122676a&navCount=1&podId=0053583&parentId=cat601360&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21404-cat21406-cat601360_TGP&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601360&hasJS=true I just got one last week and spooled it with Sufix 10 lb braid (4 lb dia.) I throw a lot of stuff on 1/16 oz jigheads. This is my third Flooger, they're excellent reels. At 6.5 oz, it's next to nothing. Go with what you want on the rod, mine is going on an Avid.
