  1. I bought an Apex Edge Pro a few months ago and really like it. Similar to the Lansky except no knife clip. I've heard that the knife clips aren't worth a hoot. I just like knowing that I have the correct angle edge on my knives. I could never get it right with a plain stone. http://edgeproinc204.corecommerce.com/Apex-Model-Edge-Pro-System-c3/
  2. Would I want fast or moderate fast for lipless cranks? Any difference in casting distance?
  3. Looking for some input on this rod. I'm considering buying it to use mostly for lipless cranks up to 3/4 oz. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
  4. What colors do you guys like? I have some of the Green/Pearl belly but never got bit on them. I guess I should give them a try again...
  5. Lucky, That's the one I was looking at. I'd use it mostly for fishing traps over emerging vegetation in the spring. Would you say there is a significant difference in action when compared to the 906? I don't want to end up with two of essentially the same rod. Thanks, NoVa
  6. Not sure if these have started selling yet, but just wanted to see if anyone has had the opportunity to get their hands on one. Anyone looking forward to trying them out? They're supposed to be softer than their other crankbait rods.
  7. Wow...some of you guys got a lot of stuff. As far as fishing goes, I got a BPS 100MPH rain suit. Pretty excited about it.
  8. Copper is Costa's closest lense color to amber for the 580's. Amber only comes in the 400's. If you want the 580 lenses it looks like your decision is pretty easy. Remember, the green mirror and silver mirror are both Copper lenses with a mirror finish over top. I think the mirror is supposed to cut glare on blue bird days, but I've also heard that it makes sight fishing more difficult in overcast/low light conditions (apparently darker). I'll probably go with silver mirror when I order mine. Seems to be in the middle of the three.

Here what I cannot figured out, say he bought the tv for $64 bucks, and returned it for $600. If he showed a receipt it should have said he bought it at $64. He should have never got the real price back in full. I assumed the employees are not that stupid, therefore, I have reason to believe this took place at Wal-Mart and he told them he "lost" his receipt and Wal-Mart says "no problem, here your gift card." Even my grandfather will tell you, this is most B.S. policy of them all. Of course 600 dollar loss is insignificance to Wal-Mart, but a loss is a loss. And it a great loophole for thief to steal something and return the item for cash or gift cards. : Ubelievable. You call that a loop hole? Wal-Mart does this because they know people will make purchases there knowing they can take the product back if they aren't happy with it. Regardless if they threw the receipt away. That's peace of mind to the consumer. You call it a loop hole I call it customer service. I guess I don't think of things from the perspective of a thief.

He probably paid with a credit card or used a rewards card (I assume Cabelas has one). That would make it easy to track. They probably went back and viewed security footage after they caught on to him.
  11. I have several thousand round through my G23 with no failures to speak of. I've even experimented with heavier recoil springs and still no problem. It's interesting to hear others describe glocks as not being reliable. I was always under the impression that they were closer to the top of the list. I think most of the negativity towards glocks is related to internet hysteria that Micro described, especially since glocks account for such a large poriton of the handguns out there. I'm not questioning the problems surrounding the G30SF, just the overall attitude towards Glock.

I have been saying the same thing from the beginning. And what gets me are the ones who claim to be his "internet" friend. Come on guys, wake up. This clown became your "friend" by posting a few fishing topics and giving you some good tips. After becoming YOUR friend he went and sold YOU stolen property. Geeeeeez, who needs enemies with friends like him. Well said my friend.

This way of thinking is partially what's wrong with our country. I guess some people don't believe in individual responsibility and accountability anymore. Sort of goes back to the argument that spoons are responsible for people being fat. I don't know where your logic comes from, but it makes me wonder why you are trying to justify it. I don't disagree that a flag should have been raised when he paid $64 for a flat screen, but trying to place the blame on Wal-Mart employees is just a bunch of BS. I guess I was just raised different...
  14. I also switched to the Izorline XXX for several of my setups from Berkley 100% Flouro not because I didn't like the Berkley, but because this stuff is so much cheaper and still produced great results for me. A 1/4lb spool of this stuff is about half the price of a 200 yard spool of the Berkley. I don't cry every time I have to restring my reels now. http://www.charkbait.com/cs/cshL_Izorline.htm
  15. I use the 20lb for flipping milfoil and other moderate grass and really love it. I've also used 17lb for casting weightless senkos with an MBR844C IMX and Curado 200D. I've always used the KVD Line Conditioner with it so I imagine that makes a substantial difference, but either way, it is the best Flourocarbon I've used.
  16. During the 2008 season, I threw weightless senkos and worms with a Curado 200D and an MBR844C IMX with no problems. I now throw them with the CuradoE7 on the BCR893 GLX and 17lb. Izorline and they cast beautifully. I think the E7 will suit you well.
  17. I also have a BCR893 GLX that I use as my dedicated Senko rod, but mine is paired with a CuradoE7. Definetly one of my favorite setups. You won't be disappointed.
  18. Haha...if I had a nickel for every time...
  19. 1. XCalibuer XR50 - Chrome/Blue/Orange 2. Lake Fork Craw Tube - Green Pumpkin 3. Spro Jr. Frog - White Black 4. 5" Senko - Green Pumpkin 5. Mann's Baby -1 - Fire Shad That covers about 90% of what I'm successful with throughout the year. Next bait would probably have been a white spinnerbait.
  20. I have the 7'11" and like it a lot. It's not the lightest rod in the world, but it's also close to 8 feet. Crucial rod's have a good reputation so I think you would be happy with that purchase.
  21. Gotta love Incubus too!
  22. Andrew, Good luck with those finals. That's the one part of college I don't miss. Everything is great with the baby, thanks for asking. I haven't been out since late October. I pretty much hibernate for the winter, but usually around this time of year I start to get the itch again. Discussions on the forums are usually enough to scratch it until March comes around. Hope all is well with you. If you decide to go out over Christmas break, let me know. -Rob
  23. The 'Arnold Trail' out of Pohick that you speak of is actually called Potomac Teams. I believe it was started by Arnold Aspelin but is now run by Bob Pettey. My partner and I fished 7 of the 10 regular season LAPR tournaments this past year. The weights caught in some of the early tournaments were simply incredible. Dave Fauntelroy runs a first class event. As I recall, most of Dave's tournaments averaged 50-60 teams. 25lbs for a check is definetly an exaggeration but 25lbs to win a spring tournament is not. Most of the time 17lbs will get you a decent check since he pays the top 10-12 places. My partner and I did have some success last season so we plan on fishing all 10 tournaments this season. If you want more info, feel free to shoot me a PM. -Rob
  24. That's funny... I remember hearing "rumors" like that 6 or 7 years ago. It's really a bunch of BS brought on by Glock haters. I'm also the proud owner of a third generation G23 with several thousand rounds through it and 0 KB's. :
