  6. Chris, I'm guilty as charged ~ I started out the year with a Baby Rage Craw on the drop shot and as the season wore on, I up graded to standard Rage Craw. I could tell you how good it was but I'd rather just show you . . . . A-Jay

  10. I committed to it a couple of seasons ago - good experience for certain. Never really managed to produce for me here like I had hoped. I recommend spinning gear for sure. The rigs must be light and casting gear will be problematic. As you read, Mr Murphy perfected the technique, no sense reinventing the wheel. I will offer you of two thoughts in advance of your journey; 1). You will need patience - and not the kind we use on say a drop shot or a jig. Compared to stitching (and I'm talking about going it as it's described in the book), fishing a jig is like a buzzbait . . . .This is an extremely slow deal that can not be rushed. You'll be fishing 1 or 2 spots a trip - that's the whole day. 2). A double anchoring system is a must. And if you've not anchored much in the past or don't have a rig that makes it easy, you'll struggle. So commit to the 2 anchors, set your rig up to provide the most convenient arrangement possible and practice your positioning. It's critical to the success of the technique. Below is a link to a thread I ran while I did it. Didn't end like I would have wanted but taught me a bunch none the less. 12. Nice ~ I just did a rod last night - I don't see any reason not to use it and been doing so for several, and I mean several years - A-Jay
  13. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/150339-im-my-own-worst-enemy/#entry1688895 I'm the guy who likes to experiment with baits to see what will get bit. I especially like to do it when the bite is on. Meaning, when the fish are obviously eating a bait well, I will cut that one right off and try baits that have yet to prove themselves. Whether it's just a color change or even an entirely different bait, I want to test it's effectiveness and there's no better time than when I know the bass are there and eating. Now the possible drawback to this is I'm probably missing a few bits while I'm switching back & forth and retying baits every 5 minutes. But on the other hand, these times have afforded the opportunity to gain confidence in a few baits that on another day might be "The Bait". Of Course, then the whole deal might start all over again. 15. What ever you choose - be sure to know the regulations of the state(s) you plan on fishing. Some basic info: http://paddling.about.com/od/safetyprecautions/tp/USCG_PFD_Specifications.htm A-Jay
  16. If you purchase a quality product and there are several - it will not go off in the rain. Mustang was the product of choice while in the USCG - used if for several years without a problem. Still using one now. A-Jay
  17. Sweet ~ and the best part is everybody knows Chicks always go for the Drummer btw - you are either an exceptionally patient man or some what deaf, allowing a drum set in the house. Still a good Dad though. A-Jay

  23. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ The answer to "How to catch a limit" is seriously multifaceted and really can not be answered here in a reasonably sized response. You will have to be much more specific with your questions to get some usable information. And I hope you will as the membership here is loaded with skill & experience and are very willing to share it. Just need to narrow down your requests a little. A-Jay
  24. Specifically, Chatter baits, Spinner baits, & Lipless Baits in mostly open water (and not when ripping the bait out of the grass). Also most any treble hook bait. I'll switch between braid and mono depending on the application. A-Jay
