Talk to the local tackle shops - ALL of this will revolve around the TIDE. Otherwise - good times can be had anytime - sunscreen and BUG SPRAY - biting flies on the beach can sometimes be Vicious. Your reel will be fine. You'll need a rod of at least 9 or 10 feet. The power and action will need to be sufficient to lob out what ever size lead you use plus the hunk of bait. Don't forget the sand spkie and a Koozie . . . . . . Good Luck A-Jay

I was looking in there Capt B, but it's the travel rod I hunting down and I didn't see them there. Looking to pick up a couple to bring on my next trip to Baccarac. Dragging the full size rod tube is just not going to happen any more. I did talk to a St Croix service rep and of course he thought that the MH rods would be perfect. A-Jay

The past few days this area had some very unstable weather which spawned sporadic and powerful Thunderstorms. After high gusty winds and golf ball sized hail abused the landscape, it looks like they have moved on and I'll be able to get back on the water in the morning. (Without the crash helmet) A-Jay
