Fishing Trip Remembered
In an effort to help us remember our trip south of the border last month, my wife surprised us with these very cool, wall sized hangings from The Antzl Project. Each is made from our own photo's which are shot on to premium canvas - really different and very cool. The "Trophy" shown in my photo, was Jeff's doing. Before the trip we made a friendly wager. The best 5 fish bag would cature the "Angler of the Week" award. And though I came out victorious, I was only by the slightest of margins; and I know that I must have had a fairly sizable horse shoe up my butt. I only hope (but don't expect) to keep it in there for the next trip as well. A week after we got home, the trophy was delivered - very nice Jeff. Thanks. Painting Bullet Weights Black
This winter I Painted (actually dipped) a handful of Tungsten weights in black jig paint - I've only used them on Lake Baccarac so far and that place is nothing but Rock bottom so it chipped off after a few hours. My home waters have virtually No Rock, so I'd expect the color coat to last quite a bit longer. A-Jay

Any Soft Jerkbaits Better Than The Zoom Super Fluke?
I don't consider myself a big fluke aficionado - and I have only really throw the Zoom Flukes with any regularity. But south of the border recently, the Magnum Super Fluke was THE bait for almost a week. Plain Old White was tough to beat. The durability was what you'd expect with baits lasting a few fish each. What Did You Buy Today!?
Last week I decided to add some Natural Patterns to my Lucky Craft Pointer Jerkbait collection. And today, the guy in the Brown truck (who always brings my dogs Milk Bones) - delivered them. Lake Erie - here I come . . . . . . . . . . . A-Jay

Very Nice Paul ~ A Great Read and Stylist Photos ~ Thanks for taking the time. A-Jay- Do Any Of You Put You're Other Hobbies On The Backburner For Fishing ?
I'll admit it - my fishing went passed the hobby status quite a while ago. We're talking habit here with a decent amount of dependency involved as well. My "hobbies" are what I do when there is some reason I can't fish. However those reasons are few but they include things like - my arms fell off, a hurricane perhaps and then there's "The Honey Do List" Of Course Bass Resource has been a very good Hobby too. Occassionally what I type doesn't exactly match what I meant to say. Is that the case here Wayne ? A-Jay- Another Multi Species Day
Nice Job ~ Congrats A cool multi-species outing right there. If the green bass had made a showing, you'd have fished for the "Cycle" btw - you might want to consider throwing a cheap set of Frogg Togg rain gear in your truck - you'll be glad you did. A-Jay- Smallmouth Vs. Largemouth

Nice job ~ Looks like a Mutant Walleye. A-Jay- Suggestions For A Sub-$100 Medium-To-Deep Cranking Rod Around 7'6" ?
I also prefer a glass rod for cranking. I use a Lamiglas that's no longer in production, however they still do make the Excel line which includes a glass cranking rod you might like. It lists for a bit more than you're indicated you're looking to pay but if you look around a bit you can get one for just over a hundred bucks. A Texas rigged Skirt & Plastic combo can be really deadly. Fish it deep, fish it shallow, fish it in any cover or fish it in open water; you're only limited by your own imagination. (and the size of the weight) A-Jay- Epic Battle
There ya go - Thanks J Be careful out there. A-Jay- Epic Battle
I thought that little orange / red colored deal was a pfd - If it's not, and he continues that technique - we're looking at a dead man walking. A-Jay- Epic Battle
I was thinking that - but I've been there a few times. I have these vague memories of being towed down and off a few rock jetties by determined striped bass in the middle of a winter's night on the Jersey shore. The right tackle and planning ahead makes a difference. Of course, you have to stick to the plan. A-Jay- Mono?
I just spent a week on Lake Baccarac in Mexico. The guides recommended and use 17-20 mono line as the rock and wood cover there is brutally abrasive. I have been a braid/mono leader user for the last several years. While there I used 20lb Maxima and Big Game exclusively. Both handled very nicely and did there part to land some of the biggest bass I've ever caught. I'll admit that I am rethinking my line choice after this experience. A-Jay- Epic Battle
Holy Smokes - The man was definitely committed to doing whatever it took to land that Trophy salmon. The life jacket and the Long rod came in handy as we went down river, literally. I'm guessing here but that water was probably a might bit chilly. He probably losses that fish a good percentage of the time, so there was some good fortune there as well.
