Looping is cool until it's not done correctly or one 'forgets' to save an important clip. Then the camera records right over it and it's gone forever. For the record I NEVER USE THE LOOP, EVER. IMO, it's an accident waiting to happen. A-Jay

I was where I wanted to be and when I wanted to be there early this morning. Problem was, a big weed die off was fouling just about every other cast. Water temps were still 70 and I was on some bait in a few spots, so I stuck with it a while. Glad I did. A Fat Smallie hammered a spinnerbait and then a complete Tanker of a Musky swallowed my jackhammer like it was a tic tac. Fight was tricky (no wire) but we got her done. Fun morning and a great way to break in the new Go Pros. A-Jay

My rig is like this as well. Truck is 3/4 " and the trailer is 13/16" with a deep socket or something wacky like that. Here's another tip . . . Purchase a few extra trailer lug nuts and keep them in your towing vehicle. I stripped one out a while back. A-Jay

Thanks for the kind words and Not to hi-jack this thread . . . . But that's a REALLY tough Call IMO. One I can't truly answer, especially as an all season producer. I have Seasonal Favorites which are often a 'type' of bait. Like Pre-spawn and going along with this thread, A jerkbait has been like magic - was again this April for sure. A vibrating jig gets honorable mention during that time as well. But late summer and into fall, Topwater, A-Rig, Spinnerbaits and vibrating jigs again, all account for plus size fish for me. Perhaps some of this could help . . . Go back fish at night ~ A-Jay

I say ditch the heavy mono and go back to wire. But use this. It's made to be tied directly to your mainline. Uni to uni knot and you're good to go. No need for a swivel. You could add a clip to the working end if you wanted, I do not. As for using it on topwater, works with a constantly moving bait but I do not use it for poppers. Been using this successfully for 10 years plus, and it's a regular part of my standard operation procedure everywhere there are pike. And we have plenty here also. I talk about the wire at the end of this short clip where it helps account for a fairly repectable pike this past May. Good Luck A-Jay

@Crow Horse I do not fish from a kayak but I have been down the path your on now as it relates to GoPros & remotes on the water. First off, the remote does two things, 1 - Controls a camera you can't easily reach. 2 - Also can help save battery power by only running the camera when 'you need it'. Well I did the remote thing with the hopes that I would be able to accomplish the 2 deals above. Didn't work for me. Tried the wrist cuff. - too cumbersome. Tried a lanyard around my neck, (and this is funny but wasn't at the time). I was losing fish because the remote lanyard was getting caugfht up in my reel (not to mention choking me out). So that was a big fail. Tried a mounted remote on my trolling motor - again didn't work. And one of my biggest problems was connectivity between the cameras and the remote - They would disconnect several times a trip. Giant PIA After all was said and done in order to not worry about battery power, and not worry about reaching the camera and not even use a remote AT ALL. I went to external power source. Then I could leave the camera running all day And was able to capture ALL of my fishing. Just need to use an SD card of sufficient size. Perhaps consider slipping in an off day right in the middle. So 3 days on, an off day, and then 3 more days on. Improvement comes with rest, not while we're in the gym. Hope you can feel better soon. A-Jay

Here in northern Michigan, I fish jerkbaits often. I do OK with some type of natural pattern in clear water and go Western Clown in anything stained or a little dirty. I will admit to having a few other colors to choose from as well. A-Jay

I wear an amber lense in low light or cloudy. A Black lense covers most generally sunny conditions. And the blue lense in the brightest sun with reflections off the surface. Bass not always included. 😎 A-Jay
