"The Leash" Outboard Motor Tether
The Leash is on back order . "Due to popular demand there may be a delay on shipment. All orders will be fulfilled in the order they are received. All new orders placed have an expected lead time of 4 - 5 weeks. When this does ship you should receive tracking to your email. Thank you." Typical. A-Jay

Lake Menderchuck Pike have been Thick ! (short video)
Been working pretty hard past three days trying to get on a shallow water brown Bass bite. But I'm getting everything but that. Green bass have been everywhere and it seems the Pike are relentless. This is the 'best' one from today, and I'm using the term best, just to be nice. A-Jay

PSA - Ground Wasps
@Jar11591 What the heck Dude !!! That's a Bad day right there. Glad you're mostly OK and on the mend. Hope your leg heals well. I broke the same two bones in my lower leg playing football half a life time ago. I was going in for 6 but got wiped out at the goal line. Surgery and 3 screws to hold it all in place 4 months later, I was good. Besides having an itchy pencil leg when the cast came off, to this day I can tell you when it's going to rain 24 hours in advance. Take it slow my friend. We just never know what each day will bring. Dual Pro charger not working
Nothing lasts forever and you got the best that unit had. 10 years is pretty good in my book. In the interest of not jacking up a perfectly good battery, Or worse, getting stranded somewhere, Time for a new unit. The Dual Pro Sportsman SS1 Marine Battery Charger is @ $210, If it lasts 10 years that's $1.75 bucks a month. Good Luck. A-Jay https://www.chargingchargers.com/marine-battery-chargers/ss1.php

Life Jacket question
Inflatable unit's have an actual 'expiration date' right on the gage and should be changed when required. An expired unit might still work but will 'not count' in the 'eyes of the law' should you & your vessel be fortunate enough to be inspected. Same with pyrotechnics (flares) where & when required. I wish I didn't have an expiration date. Just saying. A-Jay

Life Jacket question
Everyone's ides of 'normal conditions' is probably a little different. Actual chronological age doesn't really matter. However the material condition of the PFD's does. Either way, perhaps just give the ones you have a real life 'inspection.' Ensure the material encasing the foam is intact and dry, noting any deteriorated areas and is in good repair. No mold, mildew or other type of stank. Same with the straps and buckles (usually plastic these days). If you want to test the integrity of the straps, Stand on the jacket and yank up on the strap pretty good. If stitching or the buckles fails, you'll have your answer. Good Luck A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Workout Day 2 today and it went well. Showing all 3 working sets in this one. Plan on being on the water quite a bit next few weeks so I'm taking a break from posting these workout videos for at least two weeks. We'll see how it goes after that. Either way, Stay Safe and thanks for watching. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/JS_80N4SB6k?feature=shared A-Jay

St Lawrence River - Elite
Mark Zona announced at the end of BASS broadcast today, that after 20 years of doing it, this was his last show doing the color commentary for BASS. It was a tear jerker for sure. Both he and Tommy Sanders were having a hard time maintaining their composure which is totally understandable. I was too. I'll miss Z and there is No One who can replace what he brought to those shows. A-Jay

Do you generally find Daiwa’s reels to be of inferior craftsmanship when compared to Shimano?
I got much of my newer purchases a bit less than MSRP. Plus I sold gear to help fund the change. Yes. I like the new Avid line, even over LTB and Victory sticks. But remember I am brown Bassing it 99 % of the time. A-Jay

Do you generally find Daiwa’s reels to be of inferior craftsmanship when compared to Shimano?
Thanks, me too ~ Yes most of the sticks sporting full cork are new. Just never really liked split grips; especially EVA Foam. And although I still have a few, with the whatever time I have left on the water, I am choosing to fish mostly what I like. So for the 2024 late summer/fall run there's been a few changes in both my casting & spinning gear. Replaced / rehomed some (but not all) of the gear that had a few miles on it , with some new stuff. Not sure the bass care, but I do. Most notable changes are Quantum rods & reels have been replaced by Daiwa Tatula MQ LT 3000 Spinning Reels, Daiwa DX Type-H Glass Reaction Casting Rods 7'3" Heavy, Daiwa Tatula Elite 100 Casting Reels, Shimano Bantam MGL A 150 Casting Reels and the St. Croix Avid line of rods is represented here as well. Both spinning & casting. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211811-brown-bass-tools-~-questions-answers/?do=findComment&comment=3094040 A-Jay

If you could turn back time.
That is A very Impressive list and a dream year for any basshead. Heck, I would be so happy if that were my LIFETIME stats ! But we didn't count 5 and 6 lb fish. There were just too many. Finally, I'm thinking you didn’t have a GUIDE. Nicely Done. A-Jay
