#15 InvizX vs Sunline, Sniper/Assassin?
I use 15 lb InvisX (and Tatsu) successfully for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits & swim jigs. I'll fish it over and around soft cover, but not "in it". Especially not thick slop type stuff. Not sure any FC, regardless of Brand, that will perform like a braided line will in heavy soft cover. A-Jay

Just the facts, Ma'am.
At first glance, I thought for sure you had hooked yourself. Glad that's not the case. A-Jay

BROWN BASS TOOLS ~ Questions & Answers
I am not really looking for a surface water temp to dictate presentation choice. Used to and IMO, I feel like I missed some bites by following that mantra. So now it's more about bait & fish movement in the late summer and into the fall. Once the weeds start to die off to a point where there's more dead vegetation that green vibrant stuff, seems most of the bait and the bass will vacant the shallow flats and move to the next level secondary deeper flats. When this happens seems to change a bit for year to year. I'll fish the edges of these with regular and deep diving jerkbaits. Which one depend on if I'm on the shallow side or the deeper edge. Sometimes the same spots that produced early season are good also in the fall. But sometimes they are not for me and I've had to hunt down where they go in Sept and October. It's a good numbers time of the year for me but as the season wears on, the bigger brown bass seem harder & harder to find and catch. Later this week I'll have a chance to see what the heck is going on with Lake Menderchuck. Plan on starting shallow but will have no problem bailing on that deal quickly if I'm not feeling it. Finally, the later the season the more the late afternoon / sunset bite becomes my best producer. On the bigger lakes as well as the smaller bodies of water. Once they finally set up on their winter stuff, they usually stay there. And can be a bit easier to target. Problem for me is being able to fish them. It becomes a time of 'too much'. Too much wind, waves, snow or ice. A-Jay

Snagless Search Baits?
Yes. I save pegging for heavy weights that will move a stopper up the line. which gets old. Also. sometime I lose the fight when it comes time to remove the peg. Which is also a PIA. A-Jay

Snagless Search Baits?
When fishing hard or soft cover that is thick/dense enough snag up or foul the effectiveness of a standard jig, I fish the rig. For everything else, I fish a jig, As to whether or not this rig bets bites, in my mind they are essentially the same baits. The exception being the rig snags less and I can make it into anything I want. Skirt color/material, weight size and type (lead or tungsten) and the hook - whatever I need to fish the situation and fit the trailer perfectly - all customizable. A-Jay

Approaching a way point
Thanks ~I certainly appreciate the kinds words and the support. However, in this case I am willing to admit that I did 'learn the hard way'. Not knowing which WPs were marking boat position and which were making potential fish holding areas probably cost me some fish. I could have used different icons to mark the different spots but I'm an OG and I am still working on keeping up with getting the most out of my graphs. Either way, I had an opportunity to 'fix it', so I did. Good Luck A-Jay

Approaching a way point
After a recent electronics package change on my rig, I took the opportunity to not import hundreds (maybe more) of previously saved waypoints. So since the end of last season and all on this one, I have been fishing 'with a clean slate'. Sort of unnerving at first. However, as I've started to drop the new pins on places I want to return to, I've committed to only placing way points that indicate BOAT POSITION. No more marking cover or structure. I know the waters I fish well enough, that as I approach and get to a spot, and look at the contour mapping, I know where I'm going to cast; without ever getting my rig anywhere near the fish. I believe stealth and not being detected is a big deal, this helps in that regard. A-Jay
