  1. Workout day 5 this morning. I had quite a bit to do but didn't want to skip this one. We got her done. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/B4K1gv8QOkU?si=uIDUN7ZV51yB76Oz A-Jay
  2. Congrats on the Puppy ~ He's a lucky boy. A-Jay
  3. Bummer. Nothing more final than broken line. I've landed a few respectable fish with M spinning gear, trick for me is having a plan and never get in a hurry. Also, I don't use it around hard cover. Hope you get another shot at that one or at the very least, one just like her. A-Jay
  4. Thank you both very much and I know you're right. I'm good. She would never let me come home to anything less than her best effort and I am obliged to do the same. She did her part in getting healed enough to come back to me. Which pales in comparison to whatever I do here. Life is the Ultimate Challenge. A-Jay
  5. 21 July ~ JUST found out Lynn is coming Home To-Day. I'm both wildly excited and quite apprehensive, but we'll get through it. Mean while, guess who is blasting around trying to getting 'the house ready' for her return ? This Guy ! I've got about 6 hours, and the dogs are not helping. Hope I make it . . . . . . Thank you all very much for the support. A-Jay
  6. Hello Al ~ I know I'm not the only one who is glad to hear that you are making it happen. I've been here a while, and this forum is my church. Outstanding Membership included. Your passage quoted above is both insightful and IMO, the captures the very essence of what Bass Resources is all about. Fish Had A-Jay
  7. While just yellowing may not be important it might not be showing up in the before pic, the original flexcoat was cracking, especially on the smaller guides (not pictured) So having the finish failing in my book certainly can compromise structural integrity. Besides, I have 5 months of hard water here a year. Keeps me busy. Btw, 4 years later, that very same stick helped me put this pig in the net. A-Jay
  8. Thank you my friend but I'm from Boston and that's how we spell it. #typoforeffect A-Jay
  9. @Fisholder7 Let's be redundant. Your gear lacks the horse power to hook the bass that strike. You are essentially using Ultra Light Frog fishing tackle. As it's been so astootly noted above, A heavier rod and heavier braid are the way to go when throwing old Kermit, Regardless of the size of the bass. Good Luck. 🐸 A-Jay
  10. I reenlistment on the Constitution when I was stationed in Boston in 85. I am quite familiar with the Eagle but could not ID her by the picture. A-Jay
  11. Not much to go on there. While I did spend some time at sea most of it occurred after the Mayflower was navigating the globe. Haven't committed the world fleet to memory either. Nice pictures though. btw - I hate blow boats. A-Jay
  12. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  13. @Spankey Sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time health wise. Hope it can resolve sooner later than later and without any lasting effects. Take Care A-Jay
  14. My 'Favorite" part(s), begins well before I get to the Lake. For me it revolves around Map study, weather hawking, Lake selection, the area I chose to fish, the technique I employ and then being there at the right time. All just to get a shot at One or perhaps even two Special Fish. Admittedly, there's quite a bit of trial & error and has been for a few decades. No doubt that will continue. But that's what makes it so special when it all comes together. Perhaps it's that gratification that's my favorite part. Never hurts to get a little lucky either. Fish Hard. A-Jay
  15. I am in this camp as well. While I've dabbled in the gear that I would classify as top tier for me, it's always very nice, it's not enough to keep me coming back for more. In fact my most recent casting sticks I've purchased (7 of them) came in at a whopping $85 bucks each. And they are KIller ! I've got a couple of 'older' low end spinning sticks I LOVE and have babying for years. Even to the point that when they were getting close to needing some hardware help, I did that rather than replace them. Finally, when you fish at night, you quickly realize that not being able to see your gear but still catch fish because the tackle fishes effectively, is a real thing. YMMV A-Jay
  16. Still Working To Stay Lean. Been over a month since I've posted one of these workout videos. Contracting Covid (again) as well as tweaking my lower back set me back a bit. I'm doing better now and after stringing a few of these training sessions together, I posted this one. Still have a ways to go to get back to where I was before the chit hit the fan, but I'm heading in the right direction at least. Plan on keeping this going. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/F0zkGscruQE?feature=shared A-Jay

  20. Yea thanks. I'm not cracking too many jokes lately.
  21. I do think about it. There's a ton of mostly very small and delicate structures in our hands. Repeated driving any type hook deep into them is a little wacky and mostly unnecessary. Certainly Not part of my fishing. Not looking to change the quality of my life. Using a net and as well as following a safe handling practice is more my style. Especially when treble looks are involved. A-Jay
  22. Update ~ 19 July. Lynn remain hospitalized at Henry Ford down in Detroit. Still receiving 3-4 hour dialysis treatments every other day. Reduce Kidney & renal performance demand it. Future plans are to bring her home her home early this week. She'll still need to continue with her treatments but we are super fortunate that there is a local facility ready, willing and able to take care of her current needs. Any remnants of my bout with Covid seemed to have passed but I did manage to tweak my lower back pretty good a week ago. Still working through that one but I am able to train so that's helping. The hits just keep coming. These are the good old days. A-Jay
  23. How would you rank your fishing ability ? Isn't this like grading your own 6th grade math exam ? I strive to prevent what I can't do from interfering with what I can. Just Fish Hard A-Jay
  24. Nobody likes you . . Man that looks so good right now. Especially your spirit selection. I just had some ground turkey, brown rice and green beans. Not the same. A-Jay

Forget about it. You're a hack and don't know the first thing about serving quality meat. Stop wasting money. That otta do it. Go for it ! Life is short A-Jay
