Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 28, 2024 Global Moderator Posted August 28, 2024 Some of yall may have seen photos in the latest catch pics thread but this video captures the essence of my favorite stretch of water to fish. I do have somewhere between 100-200 bites from seed ticks on my legs but that’s a first for me, still worth it ! You have to put whatever you want to fish with in your pockets and swim for it, also lots of wading and falling down on slick jagged rocks 21
Texas Flood Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Those photos are amazing and makes me sad I live in Iowa. 1

Super User Mobasser Posted August 29, 2024 Super User Posted August 29, 2024 Looks like a great place. 1
Kev-mo Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 What's a seed tick? And that place looks quite beautiful! 20 hours ago, Tackleholic said: Over the years I have had two places like that to fish, sure do miss them and the many smallmouth; wish I could go back. I saw a post on a fishing forum some years back of some gnarly and I mean gnarly looking rocky bouldery river that was supposably in your state. Wondering if that's one of the places you're referencing? No need to call it out publicly or even privately. I'm just glad I saw pics of it! 2

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 29, 2024 Author Global Moderator Posted August 29, 2024 Yall are killing me! 😂 @Kev-mo, there are lots of them! Most aren’t willing to swim, fall down, wade for 10 hours, and be destroyed by parasites so I’m not terribly worried about naming the place, although my cousin might kill me if I did
Super User J Francho Posted August 30, 2024 Super User Posted August 30, 2024 If your cousin doesn't get you, the sea herpes will! 1
fishhugger Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 is a seed tick basically a baby tick? idk the technical term... a young tick. i'm apparently not nearly as tuff as you............. swimming across with your fishing pole kept outa the water reminded me of the surfing scene in apocalypse now............. 2
Bazoo Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Seed ticks are baby ticks. They are everywhere here. My wife pulled 40-50 off my ankles the other day, 2 days in a row.
Super User J Francho Posted August 30, 2024 Super User Posted August 30, 2024 Does bug spray or SSS keep them away?
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 30, 2024 Author Global Moderator Posted August 30, 2024 @J Francho, I don’t know but we were swimming and wading so much I would guess it washes off 1
Super User Swamp Girl Posted August 30, 2024 Super User Posted August 30, 2024 Not even King T-Billy is a swimming angler! 2

They were ironically not on my ankles , knees to belly button covered solid . The itching was violent, couldn’t sleep 4 -5 nights in a row . Finally slept all night last night
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted August 30, 2024 Super User Posted August 30, 2024 Enough of this talk about ticks… did you catch any fish?

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 30, 2024 Author Global Moderator Posted August 30, 2024 @Tennessee Boy, just linked the post with fish pics @gimruis, I have fished there my whole life and never had a tick, not sure what happened this time but they got me 1
Tackleholic Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 When wet wading sometimes I would get Leeches on me, even had them latch on to the leather on my shoes. Nasty.
