I use Magastrike on just about everything I throw. It is also a jelly like deal and comes in a tube (like toothpaste). Storing it in a 'cooler' with my food & drinks keeps it from getting too runny in the summer heat. A-Jay

While I'd agree that all waters go through cycles of good & even better catches, the fact that the top 10 or even top 20 waters seem move up and down these 'lists' but rarely go totally of them. Sort of like flavor of the month club. A-Jay

I haven't thrown a Texas rig for SMB is a while. Not that it doesn't get bites, just that there's mostly open water where I'm hunting brown bass. Either way, I have been known to fling that Ned rig around here & there . . . . #elephantseatpeanuts A-Jay

It's 'only' been a couple of three weeks but it feels like I haven't been on the water in forever. Currently I am so entrenched in Stage 1, I can taste it ! Still have a couple more weeks to go before I'll be able to float around again. Really hoping to do some damage in Stage 3 come mid August. #needit A-Jay

Not every school of bait has feeding bass on it; and especially not all day long. As mentioned here already, timing might be key. I've sat on & fished bait schools for weeks at a time waiting for bass to show. If it's not in an area that the bass routinely 'use' IME, that bait will often go completely unmolested. Happens on many of the bigger inland lakes I frequent quite a bit and especially in the fall. Did I mention I hate suspended bass ? A-Jay

Lynn took Tank out to take a whizz and he vectored in on it straight off. He got to spend a few minutes playing the 'grab the tail game', Until I got out there. I got dizzy just watching him spin circles around old snappa head. Turtle was not amused. A-Jay

As a mainline on casting gear, knots using 10, 12, 15, 17, 22, 20 & 25 lb FC have not been a problem for me. But I have had zero success adding lengths of FC leader that is lighter than 8 lb to a Light braid mainline. While I do not use it a ton, the few times I'm looking to go down to 4 or 6/b leader, for bass fishing, I'll avoid using FC like the plague. Maxima Ultragreen premium monofilament in 4, 5 & 6lb gets it done for me. Below in my FC knot failure face A-Jay

Our property has had a most interesting summer so far with quite a diverse number of not seen before (or at least very often) birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. Today we added to that growing list with this guy. He was safely relocated a ways back in the woods. Tank & Kya thanked us. A-Jay
