  5. Not a huge fan of fishing in a total down pour. A somewhat lighter version of that is OK, especially when I'm getting bites. Honestly, I'd much rather fish in the snow than the rain. Don't knock it, till you try it. A-Jay

  10. Forget about being a biologist. If you don't become a fence / containment master, it's already over. You can do it. I always wanted to be a dentist. j/k A-Jay
  11. Stop messing around and just load up on Tatsu. Amazon has very competitive prices on bulk spools of both InvisX and Tatsu. A-Jay
  12. Part of the fun & challenge of big hard pulling fish, and stripers can certainly be that, is the successful landing. I've caught a few, all saltwater deals, but the process is the same. My advice is to think of your rod, reel, line, hooks & hardware as a 'system'. And while we can all have our own way of getting a big fish in the net, there are a few things we can do after we hook into a giant, that can put the odds in our favor. IMO, The 'drag setting' is definitely part of that as it plays a pretty big role in how much pressure the fish puts on you and how much pressure you can place on the fish. There may be no one perfectly 'correct' drag setting as conditions and fish fighting spirit are rarely the same. However having the drag slip some at the right time, can help manage the forces on you, your gear and the fish; and that's almost always a good thing. Quality tackle often ensures repeatable & predictable results. Can be beneficial in the long run. So the drag setting needs to be able to set the hook and fight the fish effectively, meaning allowing you to retain some semblance of control of the fish. Take line with the rod when you can and give line when the fish seems determined to go the other way. btw, I adjust my drag mid-fight ALL THE TIME. Perhaps think of it like brakes on your truck; sometimes you need more, sometimes you need less. Hard to know in advance which one. In my early days, I bet I lost far more fish with a drag too tight than I ever have with a properly set/slipping drag setting. Good Luck A-Jay

  14. Workout 3 again for me this morning. Performed 3 working sets of 6 exercises. Showing the last set of each here. Been really good sleeping weather here lately. I'm taking advantage & benefitting from it that. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

  17. I went down this road a while back. Post in linked below. Abridge version is, I switch to REC GAS (non-ethanol) and never looked back. If it's an option in your area, I highly recommend it. I do run a Quick Clean through my ProXS once in the summer. That's the only thing I put in my gas tank now until winter storage. A-Jay

  20. Thanks ~ Sasha was a fun foster. Fostering may be different for everyone. For us we had to 'learn' to fall in love with the process, not the dog. Can be hard to do and we had a few foster failures along the way. Being able to take care of them like they were your own and then let them go can be a bear. But I realized I had to hold back 'just a little' bit of myself. Not go all in on every one. Understanding right from the start that they are simply visiting and benefitting from it. While we never let the fosters directly interact with our pack, having a stable pack of at least two dogs can be helpful, just so the foster can get a bit of a contact high off that. Working very closely with our local animal shelter can not be understated and is something we need & appreciate. A-Jay
  21. Hello Bill and welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  22. Good thing about the little castle craft trailer is that it doesn't weigh much. Not sure exactly but whatever it is, when I get tied of being unable to get the stupid thing to go where I want, I just get out and pick it up to position it. Then the process starts all over again. Night time is especially interesting #lotsofcursing A-Jay
  23. Where do you get that from ? I'm jealous. Or perhaps you just hold a live one over your head ? A-Jay
  24. I have a cap and tinted window. And the AT4 has multiple camera views that help with trailer maneuvers. But thankfully the trailer is wide enough that, I can still use my side mirrors. Which I do. My little Canoe trailer is a Bear however. I am the jack knife master with that whole deal. A-Jay
