  1. I don't want to Derail / Hijack this thread. But it's usually better to start 'too far away' than too close. Work in from there. A-Jay
  2. I do and that's the whole point. Get the bait AWAY from the boat - Like in another time zone away. Full size Walking baits have actual hang time. But they get bites. Even directly into the wind. https://youtu.be/sOBk7MV01o8?t=108 A-Jay
  3. You're welcome and I agree that color/pattern does look pretty sweet. But don't sleep on that yellow perch flavor either now. It's been really good for me for A While ! Whole lot easier to get too. https://youtu.be/sITpRNLz_04?t=410 A-Jay

  6. I certainly have regret. Wished I had a re-do on most every decision I've ever made when I was angry. At this point, it's about respect & perspective for me. I always want and truly need more of both. Life is fragile & short. A-Jay

  11. So glad to see you back in the groove my friend. Makes me smile. Amazing how long it took right ? That's a good exercise but does seem redundant if you're already doing SBL. Could do them on alternate workouts clearly. I used to do that one but it NEVER felt 'right'. Always way too much stress on my front knee and my back ankle. The later may have simply been some inflexibility on my part. Either way, resistance training is hard enough without adding extra PAIN into it. A-Jay
  12. The SBL, step back lunge. I love and hate this one. I alternate between two variations of it. Both include my working or front leg stepping up onto a 3 plate stack for more range and stretch. I place some rubber matting between the plates to keep them from sliding. The one arm up behind my head makes me a little more unbalanced, as if the one dumbbell isn't enough. So my core has to work to counter balance that off side. I usually do not recommend mixing resistance training with balance work, but this one is pretty stable for me. I perform the required reps on one leg and the switch to do the other. It's not a power deal by any stretch but it will wake up those glutes in short order. In the second variation I use a DB in each hand, use more weight, do less reps and alternate legs during the set. Still requires balance but that brief rest I get switching legs back and forth lets me go heavier. Either way, I am almost always limping a little the next day. I started out a while back using no plates, so both feet on the floor. Eventually as my strength, flexibility and balance improved, I start training with the front leg up on one plate and just kept going. Not sure many folks do this one like this but it fits right in nicely with a total body training concept and I'll never not have at least some variation of it on my training schedule. A-Jay
  13. Do they sell Megabass at Costco? Asking for a monkey. A-Jay
  14. I just lift that cover and everything's right there. Maintenance free batteries help. A-Jay
  15. LOL ~ Snuck that one right in there did ya ? A-Jay

  17. I dabble in this world. The 'respect' patterns are some of my favorites. 110's & Pop Max mostly Twilight Secret & GP Spawn Killer have been good. Two of my newest Popper patterns have yet to prove themselves. A-Jay
  18. Just as a matter of reference, I run 4 group 31M Blue tops. The starting battery is in the stern and the other three are dead on the centerline in the middle of the boat. (under the center rod locker) My hull is lighter and positioning them here is very good for both stability & handling. If they had not been there originally, I'd have moved them there. A heavily weighted stern rig is not the best case scenario IMO. It's all about balance, the rest I can control with the trim. YMMV A-Jay
  19. Line to lure with: FC - San Diego Jam Line to lure with: Mono or Braid - Uni knot Braid to any leader connection - Uni to Uni Knot. And just because I'm a freak show . . . Mono backing to any mainline - Blood Knot. A-Jay
  20. When you think of a lure or technique, who does it make you think of? Hair Jig & Pork @WRB Ned Rig @Team9nine Texas Rig @Catt Jerkbait @Dwight Hottle Vibrating Jig @Bluebasser86 A-Rig @T-Billy Spinner Baits @TnRiver46 That about covers it for me. A-Jay
  21. Take care of your gear and it will most likely take care of you. Todays better reels are designed with fairly tight tolerances. Knocking them around might not be the best plan. Don't see much 'boat rash' on @bulldog1935 's gear. A-Jay
  22. Thanks for the Update and Congratulation on your new rig ! A-Jay
  23. What can I say ? The position was available . . . . A-Jay
  24. Yes but hold up - and I'll apologize in advance. I have to double clutch on my previous recommendation above. I was under the impression that the mini had a viewing screen - an important feature for framing your video. It Does Not. Hence I can not recommend something I'd never use and I'd never use that. I run a couple of hero 9 Blacks and they are very good. The hero 10 black are even better. Are last year's model and a very good buy right now. The newest 11 is getting great reviews as well. These things are not cheap but IMO you get what you pay for. https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/cameras/hero9-black/CHDHX-901-master.html Here's the clamp I use works on just about every Gopro including the newest models https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/jaws/ACMPM-001.html Finally, super sorry for the confusion and also for hi-jacking the heck out of this thread. A-Jay
  25. Let's not get carried away ~ Look up info on the Hero 11 Black Mini ~ It's the newest model but it's small, simple to use and does everything you'll need. Pretty much point & shoot. Which is what we all really want while we're fishing. The less fiddling around with the camera the better. This one captures video only but pull pics from the video is super easy. HAs a built in battery as well. https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/cameras/hero11-black-mini/CHDHF-111-master.html Oh Boy . . . . This could be the start of a beautiful thing. A-Jay
