  1. Hello Scott and welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. We rarely see a puddle. After the spring thaw that is. Also a Big help is we have a killer well. A-Ja
  3. It will be a game changer for you. My soil is SAND. Dries out after a huge rain in like 3 minutes. I run my system every morning as soon as the ground thaws. btw, you'll need to blow all the water out of the entire system in the fall with an air compressor. Don't want it to freeze. If you're lucky whoever installed your system added a 'fitting' & a valve to accommodate that. I had to do it once I bought this place. Also don't wait too long - 1st of Oct is my cut off. Good Luck Mr Green Thumb A-Jay
  4. I do as well and I feel your pain. I'm quite a way back from the road but for whatever reason the local 'humans' (and I'm using that term in the loosest sense) find it necessary to jettison all types of vial trash out of their rides in front of my drive. Examples include but are not limited to, Empty shots of Fireball, full spit bottles (chewing tobacco), just about every fast food type of drink cup & wrapper, deer parts, and loaded diapers. I hate people. ? A-Jay
  5. Total Body 3 this morning ~ The grind continues. Been working hard to find the right combination of training volume & intensity, calories required and finally effective recovery. Seems missing the mark is a lot easier than nailing it. Feel like I'm getting close though. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  6. Congrats And Welcome to the shinking bass club. A-Jay
  7. Perhaps place it in the litterbag in your truck once you get to the ramp. When that bag gets filled simply chuck it out the window as you drive home. But make sure it lands on a nicely manicured lawn, that way you know it will get picked up. Finally, don't leave any mail in that bad boy . . . . j/k ? A-Jay
  8. I know. I think that price recently went up because I don't think I paid that. This one is still pretty steep but it's a little better at least. Depending on weight & pattern. https://discounttackle.com/products/evergreen-international-grass-ripper-swim-jig?variant=39427529211993&scid=scbplpshopify_US_6770807668825_39427529211993&sc_intid=shopify_US_6770807668825_39427529211993&msclkid=509605a96be812baec6067400b7badd8&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SC - Shopping - General&utm_term=4586131720973973&utm_content=All products A-Jay
  9. Starting to put some time in with the Evergreen Grass Ripper Swim Jig. Has potential for check the boxes in a few different deals. Impressive. It starts with a streamlined durably painted head. Love the line tine position. Equipped an effective traier keeper system and a 4/0 Gamakatsu hook https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Evergreen_Grass_Ripper_Swim_Jigs/descpage-EGGR.html A-Jay

Called a Rage Rig and yes I use it. Most effective application for me is with a lightly weighted EWG. Swimming a bug or craw over and through shallow cover, especially weeds is a producer. A-Jay
  11. Perhaps having some understanding of The Natural Progression of a Basshead could be of some value . . . . . A-Jay
  12. Total Body 2 this morning started with a Step Back Lunge. I was looking forward to this one. It's all about attitude. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  13. We're all different and most of us evolve. As we get a little further and further down the road, some of us see things differently. I do agree with the exercise deal (and you knew that was coming). And while I do certainly enjoy reading and contributing here, these are not habits, at least not in my world. Eating right is for sure as over the course of a life time it can & usually does dictate quite a bit as far as quality of life goes. Cherish what you Love and don't take time for granted might round out my deal. A-Jay
  14. Military service offered me an opportunity to build friendships that have & will no doubt last a lifetime. I had the distinct privilege of serving with quite a few fantastic men & women during various assignments. Many of these bonds are real & deep. There's a sort of 'difference' for me between my civilian 'friends' and the people I served with. There just is. A-Jay
  15. Tried that - Didn't go well. Turned out to be a gastrointestinal disaster. Not good, especially with big dogs. #mustardgas A-Jay
  16. I like the way it fishes and it lasts a little longer on the reel. I've used mono several times with decent success. Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo is very nice as far as mono goes. A-Jay
  17. @Drawdown This type of rig has worked for me in similar conditions you've described. Simply a Texas rigged plastic with a skirt added. A light lead weight can help as well; 1/4 oz. Allows the rig to 'glide' rather than dive. A-Jay
  18. And THAT is the kind of information you can't get just anywhere and what makes this forum SO Special ! Nicely Done Sir. A-Jay
  19. Definition of freeboard The distance between the level of the water and the upper edge of the side of a small boat. Generally not measured in millimeters. A-Jay
  20. Once I sink the steel and that rod bows up, I lose very few fish. A-Jay
  21. You're Welcome. First off there are so many fantastic jig fisherman here it's hard to comprehend. I am not one of those. And while I can usually hold my own, I'm still in the 'learning' phase for sure. One thing I will say that has helped me along the way is to ensure my gear matches or is at least adequate for the jig/trailer weight I'm throwing. For me that means, as the jig weights go up, the heavier the cover and/or the farther away from me the strikes are expected to come, (how long the casts are in other words) the 'heavier' my tackle (rod & line test) needs to be. Could just be me, but a blank that loads too much with just the weight of the jig seem to really hamper my strike detection. So there's a sweet spot where the rod tip is strong but still sensitive enough to fish the jig effectively. Rarely am I throwing a 1/2 oz (or heavier) structure or football jig on anything less than MH - or H and at least 15 - 20 lb line. I prefer FC. Tried using braid and I did not do well. Lost fish, broke rods and just about broke my own wrist a few times. My favorite jig rod, that is pretty close to a do it all for my style of jig fishing, (I don't fish docks) is a 7'6" MH Moderate Fast stick that loads nicely with plenty of bottom end. So there's that. One of my favorite jig fish right here https://youtu.be/1to6ti-tlZY?t=697 A-Jay
  22. @LrgmouthShad I know we already talked about this but for the rest of the community . . . Eat right & get PLENTY of sleep. Stay Hydrated and keep a positive out look. Finally, as you recover & heal, RESIST the urge to 'check' your own progress. Meaning don't do what makes it hurt to see if it's getting better. Doing that several or even a couple of times a day can seriously slow your progress & healing time. You'll know when it's better, believe me. A-Jay
  23. I was the same way for a long time. Then I watched this video and it took all the 'mystery' out of it. A-Jay
  24. @KSanford33 Nicely Done ~ What is/was your rod, reel & line used for this and did you use the same rig for each jig ? Congrats A-Jay
  25. @Hammer 4 Hope you can tell your wife that hundreds (if not thousands) of BR folks she doesn't even know are ALL Really Pulling for her. The power of our community is strong my friend. A-Jay
