  1. Not sure about the bass really. And while they have every right, where and whenever I am in close proximity to a lot of this while I'm fishing, I am CERTAIN there is a physical & mental change in ME. ? A-Jay
  2. Nice Brown Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay
  3. Nope ~ I'm also that guy. And I read the instructions on everything that comes with them. Including my trucks. Can you imagine, who does that ? Me. A-Jay
  4. I just dropped a Shimano MGL A 6.2:1 on the St Croix 'Power Glass Cranker'. Pretty Sweet. A-Jay
  5. LOL ~ You know it ! A-Jay
  6. This is pretty much it in a nut shell for me. He does a nice job here of breaking it down. Admittedly, I'm always learning something new on this deal. Latest detailed contour mapping is a must and Auto Chart Live is pretty killer for places that may not have it. Something that really helped me, especially in the beginning and on bigger water, was / is utilizing Depth Range Highlighting on my graphs. When looking for fish I believe to be at a certain depth or zone Helps me get a visual of the water I need to check, which saves lots of time by eliminating anything that may not be my focus that trip. Clearly not 'the answer' but, can be a very useful tool. Additionally, IME the environmental conditions that make for a good shallow bite, are often the same for deals off the bank. Regardless, I need to be able to 'fish effectively'. So if I can't make my desired presentation in a manner that I think will generate bites, I usually need to rethink my plan. Fish Hard A-Jay
  7. Might not really be a right or wrong deal. Have you fished swim jigs ? They have a power - it's just usually sort of subtle compared to anything with a blade. But swim jigs can be kicked up a notch with a flapping craw type trailer. In my world, the magic sauce is the little wiggle the bait gets when matched with the right paddle tail trailer. Swimming one through shallow early season emergent weed growth, and then straight through the summer pattern, can be all kinds of crazy good. I'm a big fan. A-Jay
  8. Might depend on who you're fishing behind. If it's that last guy, you should be good. A-Jay
  9. Total Body 2 this morning. Sometimes it's just about getting Clean Reps. That's what this one was about. Showing one working set of six exercises. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  10. BTW ~ my 'grip' changes a bit for the cast. Especially when I want to reach out and touch a bass . . . . A-Jay
  11. Hello Paulie and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  12. My 'fishing grip' on casting reels is always the same. Pics below are a 300 size reel and a swimbait rod, which is about as big as I can palm. 100, 150 & 200 size reels are a little easier to control. A-Jay
  13. That is so awesome ! Tigers are such gorgeous fish. Good for you guys. Congrats A-Jay
  14. I am Not an experienced river smallie angler. However this young man apparently is. Besides being a BR member here for a long time @everythingthatswims Nolan recently won the Hobie BOS on the Susquehanna River using a floating bug. Evergreen Gizmo Interesting approach. A-Jay
  15. Congrats ~ Iggy is one Lucky Dog That bond is like nothing else. A-Jay
  16. Hi Joe and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Thanks for the information. I experimented with the 'looping feature' and found I preferred simply shooting it all and editing later. As for the overheating solution, glad that worked out for you. Not sure I could pull that one off . . . . A-Jay
  17. Thank You ~ Admittedly I'm not a Large/Plus size swimbait angler, but I think I've seen something like that on some Mushy rods ? Imagine it would be an extremely niche' deal for bassheads though. Interesting. A-Jay
  18. Not familiar with this. What line of rods is it on ? A-Jay
  19. Heard Storme Warran play this one on The Highway a couple of weeks ago. Been in my head ever since . . . A-Jay
  20. In the heat of the summer, and in northern Michigan that's a relative term, but the camera on the stern that is running mostly all my fishing day, WILL overheat if I run a battery in the camera. When I take the battery out and use external power, regardless of other camera settings, it does not over heat. The camera at the bow doesn't stay on long enough for over heating to be a problem. When down in Mexico, the same deal worked to a point, but once it got over 100 degrees or so they both started cutting off intermittently. At that point, we would just turn them on when we hooked up instead of running either on all the time. A-Jay
  21. Good and I purchased that boomstick a couple of years ago and I paid $99 Not sure what's going on with the price now, seem crazy high. It's just an aluminum pole. WTH. A-Jay

  23. Yes ~ If past members count Big Fish Jeff A-Jay
  24. Makes sense. I didn't add that moon & wind is better for me than moon & flat calm. A-Jay
