  1. Agreed @Catt But there may be another way to look at it as well. Stay Healthy my friend. A-Jay
  2. Thanks J After the big water life the Pro-V feels like a go cart. Fun at times but we both know that with only ONE OB motor, the fun turns into A serious problem if it goes down. Do ALL maintenance & hope for reliability when we need it most. A-Jay
  3. Nice ~ ! That's what I'm talking about. Congrats A-Jay
  4. I prefer to Always have the worst of it on the stern on the way home. Try to plan it this way each trip. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not, Back in the day the saying was: "You have to go out but you don't have to come back". Not so much any more . . . . Fish Hard but Stay Safe A-Jay

  11. Interesting. If this is such a sure thing, I guess I would only feed this amphibian on the days I planned to fish. I might never struggle to get bites the rest on my born days ! #starvetheterrapin Fish Hard A-Jay
  12. Grilled chicken & golden taters. Could be Ducanes last hurrah for 2021. Was good while it lasted. A-Jay
  13. I recommend Griot's Garage 10691 Synthetic Clay This is a very effective way to rid surface paint of most contaminants in advance of a polish & or wax. I use this one (as a wash sponge) every time I wash the truck & the boat. Real time saver. https://www.amazon.com/Griots-Garage-10691-Synthetic-Brilliant/dp/B072HHT8NF/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=synthetic+clay&qid=1630866332&sr=8-2 A-Jay
  14. So here it is, the first week of September. For those of us that are eventually heading to hard water, this last few months or so of open water seems to really fly by. These next several weeks can be so Good both for numbers and size, which seems to add a serious layer of intensity to the whole deal. Accordingly, I’m trying to be on the water every chance I get for as long as I can stay. And as the Autumn season goes in to full swing, along with the brilliant colors and the falling air & water temps, there’s almost always some very stiff wind. Here it’s usually coming from somewhere near the North Pole, at least that’s what it feels like. A little is OK and for the most part even desirable. Beyond that, there’s sadness & disappointment in A-Jay World. When I’m not on the water, especially this time of year, I’m checking & re-checking the local weather forecast ~ several times a day. This meteorological report seems to drive my very existence as I hope for at the very least, reasonable conditions to get out on the water those last few times. This weekend has been a total wash out with excessive wind & big fat rain. The upcoming week does look a little better with seasonal overnight & day time air temps (but might be wet) and most importantly, light to only perhaps moderate winds. Of course that can all change in an instant, but I’m going to remain optimistic. Finally, if your home waters do not freeze and you’re able to fish open water year round, you may not be able to totally comprehend or relate to the text above. I’m OK with that. And when the world freezes over up here, I'll still enjoy reading about and seeing pictures / videos of the great bass you'll no doubt catch. But if you would, just please don't remind me about it. Not here & Not now. Fish Hard A-Jay
  15. Fish can't swim backwards I bank on this. It's hard enough getting them in the Frabil as it is. If they could, I think I'd be hosed. ? A-Jay
  16. Been there. Not fun A-Jay
  17. Not sure what 'big fish' size we are talking right here, but I've got a bit of video that shows some fairly respectable brown bass clearing the surface by two and tree feet. They may be fat but definitely not slow. #sixplus Fish Hard A-Jay
  18. LOL ~ Thank you my friend. Soon to be covered with 17 gazillion oak leaves and eventually 15 ft of that crazy white stuff. A-Jay
  19. You might be reeling too fast. Slow your roll. A-Jay
  20. Cool ~ That's a Tank ! A-Jay
  21. As noted above by some seriously good sticks, it has been my experience that FC does not respond well to being heavily stressed, in particular, being stretched; especially repeatedly. I like FC but have learned to 'Use it' with much less failure. And while FC may not deteriorate under normal use like mono, it does NOT appear to be as durable when pushed, during the same time frame. So, like mono, I change it more often than most, perhaps not quite as much but it happens. IF I never got snagged, never got over runs, never fished in abrasive cover and never caught fish that stressed the line, I'd not change it that often. However these things do happen (I like the last part best) so I feel there's a need. I am NOT Fan of the Mystery break offs, which I feel line stress may contribute to. Fish Hard A-Jay
  22. Nice Brown Bass ~ Congrats on your new Personal Best. A-Jay
  23. Pictures tell the story my friend. #hammer A-Jay
