  1. Yup ~ Better to forget to take it off than to put it on in the first place. A-Jay
  2. OK so I like the bait - It gets bites for me, spring , summer & fall. (But it's not magic) Here's a spring bass on one, water temps were in the high 40's. and to the OP - @Jim Sutter Good Luck with your selection. A-Jay
  3. Can't tell you how many times I've started my truck to head home after a day on the water and realized I was still wearing the life jacket. A-Jay
  4. Here is at least one model that is designed to roll over an unconscious victim to the face up position. Mustang Survival has been building inspired technical solutions for water rescue professionals, military elites, and commercial/industrial mariners for over 50 years. I trust my life to their gear. I wear the model shown. A-Jay
  5. Now you're talking. Suggestion - make sure your gear, (rod, reel, line & terminal tackle) are designed to met the challenges of the fish you 'hope' to catch. So that when you do hook her, you're offering yourself the best possible chance to land her. Good Luck and remember to have fun A-Jay
  6. What’s in your hands and in the water most of the time? When I'm doing it right, My Frabil . . . A-Jay
  7. Back a few years ago, St Croix was blowing out their remaining stock of the "Rage Line" of rods. I have, fish (And Love) the St Croix LTB line but at that point, did not own any Rage sticks. I was in the market for a Mod Fast Jig rod so I took a flyer on a very attractively priced 7'6" MH Mod-Fast wand from the Bargain Room. After one day on the water with it, I went back and got another, (last one unfortunately). Totally dig this one - especially The Handle ! Sad part is that if I want to add to the inventory or even upgrade a few stick to get that handle, I'll need to jump all the way to the Extreme Line, which a fairly monumental jump in $$$; especially since I snagged the Rage sticks for like $80 American each. Love The Rage. ( Pulls double duty as my A-Rig Rod as well.) A-Jay

  10. Sounds like fun ~ Perhaps kick it up a notch and don the attire that was all the rage during the time these baits were making noise. You know you still have some of that stuff around in a box some where. #mothballs A-Jay
  11. Yes ~ Several in fact. All casting rigs. Duplicates include but may not be limited to Three 7'4" MH Composite cranking Two 7' MH Composite cranking Three 7'1" MH Graphite (fast) Two 7'6"MH Graphite (Mod-Fast) However, my spinning gear is so technique specific, that each is a bit different to address the needs. btw - I like round reels. 12. Congrats on the New PB ~ A-Jay
  13. That 55 has accounted for several plus size brown bass for me the past several seasons. It's been a front runner on my annual "Most Productive Baits" post three years running. Only way I see that changing is if I were to stop throwing it. And that ain't happening. A-Jay
  14. Same with my wife ~ As long as she's with me, any & all bugs are bunch in her vicinity. I always feel bad - sort of. A-Jay
  15. Here to ~ And hunting seasons seem like more of a 'recommendation' here than an actual law. So if it's brown - it's down. Oh My. A-Jay
  16. No apologies allowed. It's 2020, Anything Goes ! A-Jay

In a Perfect World ~ Late summer into early fall when the big pike come shallow again, I do believe a few U-Boats will take a poke at this rat. Hope I have the video running because that strike will no doubt, be Atomic ! A-Jay

That was a St Croix LTB 7'1" MH Fast, Quantum EX200, and Power Pro Maxcuatro Spectra Line 40lb with a 3 ft trace of Sunline Defier Armilo Nylon Line 22lb for a leader. I tried using the AFW wire I like for leader, but it actually jacked up the action of the rat so I changed it. Without the wire, it's only going to be a matter of time before I end up donating a rat to the Pike Gods. ? A-Jay

My First Rat Trip was a 'small' success. I did catch a couple but I think the bait was longer than the bass were. Will admit to being pretty happy to get them through. Looking forward to throwing the rat again very soon. May take a couple of the biggest size to Mexico with me - just to see. ? A-Jay
  21. Spent a sunny & warm day out on Lake Menderchuck south with my wife Lynn. We don’t get to fish together as much as we’d like but make try to make the most out it when we do. Fished for green bass today and caught a few, along with our share of small pike. Stick baits, swim jigs & a spinner bait were what we had success with today. Enjoyed the heck out of this one. A-Jay
  22. Hello Leddy and Welcome back to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
