  1. I'll net most all decent size fish. And when holding the fish for pic & or video I'll do what I can to support the fish's weight with my other hand while gripping it's jaw. On a side note, I'm all for not doing more harm to a fish than necessary, however, and don't take this the wrong way but Slamming a 6/0 Trokar that looks like a Gaff into it's face or gullet or stabbing the fish's face, eyes, & perhaps under belly with the triple trebles on a big jerkbait or topwater, is just as likely to be pretty detrimental as holding it up for a few seconds for a quick pic. Just saying. A-Jay
  2. That was a Decent Thursday Night Game tonight ~ As always seems to be the case - Injuries plays a big role and Both teams had some. KC went ahead early and was able to make enough plays on both sides of the ball to hang on for the win. Glaring factor for me was how Inaccurate D. Carr was on short & intermediate passes (although his receivers weren't exactly helping him out as there were also a number of dropped passes) especially in the second half - may have cost his team a chance to pull even at the end. Next - The Monday Night Tilt should be fairly action packed. I'm pulling for the home team. A-Jay
  3. Cool ~ But that deal isn't looking too sporty if your fishing platform can't support the unit. Good Luck A-Jay

  6. Every surf casting spinner I've ever owned was without fail without bail. A-Jay
  7. Pictures tell the story !!! - I guess I'd take a file to that bad boy in an effort to eliminate or at least drastically reduce that "catch point". If that didn't work and I was in the right mood - I may very well "Float Test" the darn thing - might even go for a distance record if you catch my drift . . .Splash . Good Luck. A-Jay

  9. I'll mail you mine - you mail me yours. We'll hold them until next year & then mail them back. You first though . . . A-Jay

  11. Perhaps The Minn Kota Talons are a viable option as they require no additional space beyond the mounting hardware. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Shallow-Water-Anchors/Talon/ A-Jay
  12. Yes Sir ~ I started doing this for my casting reels on the first trip south of the border a while back. Definitely allowed me to get quite a bit off flexibility out of the four rods I chose to pack. As it turned out - it's a 20 pound Mono Only deal but it was still a good thing having some options. Now I still use the casting reel multiple spool deal a ton on my home waters. An Especially effective system when virtually ALL my reels are very similar (Brand / model) in that they will all accept the same spools interchangeably. When fishing several days in a row, on different bodies of water, some habitats may be vastly different and each demands different techniques and or presentations. If I want to fish a certain stick but need a different type or size line, a quick spool change and I'm back in the game. Helps in zeroing in on the right depth with certain cranks as well. My biggest challenge may be identifying each spool correctly. Currently keeping each spool in small zip lock bags labeled with the line type & size. Not keeping that deal straight really defeats the whole purpose. A-Jay
  13. Really Great way to wrap up your season ~ Your assessment of fishing in the wind speaks volumes and doing it this time of year & in those conditions is a testament to ones conviction. Your waters certainly appear to be bass fertile - gotta love that. Thanks for sharing your story & the stud bass pics Congrats A-Jay
  14. Yes Sir - and in all honesty, I would be slightly embarrassed to tell a non-bass angler just how many completely stacked full 3700 box are stashed away in the Lund right now. Most True Bass fishing humans however would be serious less impressed. But I do need a few more . . .& probably always will. A-Jay
  15. OK - Guess I miss that. Either way, I stand by my original response that the manual bail close is a must. Additionally, in my own fishing, I don't see how the line could catch at that spot on the bail (or any where for that matter) unless I was using reel handle engagement to flip the bail. Just saying. A-Jay
  16. That's funny because I was thinking the same thing. Certainly a catch of a life time but if he had got it while picking his nose, well then that would have been very awkward . . . C'mon Man . . . A-Jay

  19. Hit the local Wal-Mart's bargain bin a few years back in the fall. They were liquidating all the 6 pack Mustad KVD Elite Trebles for like $2 ! Left with every size 2,4,& 6 they had. SCORE ! It was the Only thing I bought that day and the young "Human" (and that term is being used very loosely here) at the check out didn't seem to share my idea of the bargain value of this purchase. I've checked it again every chance I get but have never purchase one thing from it since. A-Jay
  20. Nicely Said ~ If the OP has to use one rod for both applications, presenting the treble hook bait on nylon line and the single hook baits on braid & a leader could put more fish in the net. Not Ideal, but perhaps a little better. A-Jay
  21. This is the deal in the Old Town canoe when the conditions dictate ~ This Neoprene Dry Suit keeps me warm & dry. A-Jay A-Jay
