  1. I'd Agree ~ as for the bait's popularity (or not) can't explain it either. But it's a decent bait that catches bass as well as or better than many options out there. Stock hardware is better that average and it has a bit of a different 'Sound'. The single object inside the bait (be it lead or tungsten don't know and it's not mentioned anywhere) along with the baits construction material combines to produce something that a lot of bass seem to like quite a bit. A stop & go retrieve with the Dance's Citrus Shad was producing some seriously aggressive strikes. In fact this past June, this was the bait I was throwing when three travel rods failed. So there's that. A-Jay
  2. I'm really looking forward to this one. Don't have a dog in the race so I can either route for or hate on both teams equally. Haven't decided which yet. A-Jay
  3. Green Bay's D will be having nightmares for a while. Good Night Irene. A-Jay

  6. What a THROW ! The call on this catch will be interesting . . . A-Jay
  7. Might be an appropriate Atlanta Falcon's Helmet Logo ~ at least this game A-Jay
  8. Though the water temp is not mentioned - given what else is provided, I'd expect some bass to be sucked up tight to whatever cover there was. I'd have fished a Black/blue jig & craw all day in the thickest stuff I could find. A-Jay
  9. The Bomber Fat Free Shad Deep Diving Square Bill BDSL7F 3/4 oz model was a big player for me south of the border a few times. With up graded hooks & rings and fished on 20lb mono it was running about 8 ft consistently. Bait comes through wood pretty good. A-Jay
  10. There are over 300 species of crayfish in North America and at least 6 different types in your home state. When trying to use a bait to imitate these bottom dwellers, shades of brown, red, dark green and as you mentioned purple all have there place. Some thing to keep in mind in this situation is that an organism rarely retains it living colors after death, especially one that may have been soaking on the bottom of the lake for a while. Good Luck A-Jay

A Lot going on there ~ I'm thinking Z Man Razor Shadz trailer. Interesting indeed. A-Jay
  12. I believe my fishing season is what I make of it. My mission for the past several years has been to try to bring as much learning & growth to each one as I can. This keeps me hungry to keep going more than just trying for The Big One. Clearly that's the end game but the road to get there has to be fun for me. New water, new techniques and a twist to an old one all help keep the juices flowing. This season started out very nicely as I was able to continue building on a few techniques I'd worked on the previous year. As the season progressed my momentum slowed a bit. This year I'm going to work on keeping it rolling through the hotter months with some new water and more night ops. I'm betting the new boat will help in this area quite a bit. The Fall was killer, no other way to but it. Something that can not be overlooked is the role that this site plays in all of it. Reading & writing here about my & other members experiences has been one of the most rewarding & satisfying aspects of the past several seasons. A-Jay

  14. I know - I was out today in just a jock strap & a sailor's cap ! But as fun as that was, it's not really desirable at this point. Hoses up the dog sled trails . . . A-Jay

That's a decent rig Catt. Check this one out. The Freedom Tackle Stealth Live Action Hybrid Jig. This product allows of the use of any hook - Trokar included. Though mostly kind of an unknown and against my better judgement mind you, I've posted about this one a few times in the past. I've been fishing it for a while and so far have yet to discover any limitations. Very Versatile. Also doubles as a killer way to present a swimbait. http://freedomlures.com/stealth.html A-Jay
  19. Now That's Pretty Cool. Congrats to all parties concerned. A-Jay

  21. Any product that includes the words Ronco or Popeil may be suspect. Also if the term "Just pay separate shipping & handling" is somehow involved, I usually steer clear. A-Jay
  22. If you haven't done so already, try going on a few fishing trips to those special places where one catches the kind of bass that dreams are made of. That will leave you wanting more & more, more & more, more & more, more & more, more & more, more & more, more & more, more & more. A-Jay
  23. In the past I tried the fanning deal and the 50/50 spread / split deal but never really noticed that it made that much of a difference. So now as long as the hook is sharp & straight, I fish it as is. A-Jay

  25. I fish the 200D & 300D regularly. The 200D is a fantastic cranking reel for everything except the super over sized baits. I love it for squarebills and medium & deep diving baits. Remember the gear ratio & IPT on these reels a little on the low & slow side (which I prefer for most of my billed hard baits & swimbaits). The 300D takes over from there for baits like SK 10XD & Lucky Craft SKT Magnum 120 Mag DR. It's also my primary swimbait reel for Hudds ( 68's & 8" deluxe) as well as heavy A-Rig applications. The "D" series reels are super smooth, Little sliver Beasts that made chump change out of many a would be mutant Mexican Bass at every opportunity. btw - don't overlook the TW Demo program. I tried it with these reels and ended up buying them. A-Jay
