  3. Thank You ~ I edited my post. This is what I meant but presented it incorrectly. A-Jay
  4. That's a Lap-Full . . . . . A-Jay
  5. Hello (again) James and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  6. I'm the same way with a Carolina rig ~ but if you haven't already, just try D/S with a SK Rage Craw. Don't need to "Fish it". Use it like live bait. Toss it to a likely spot and leave it. You Will Get Bit. A-Jay
  7. The Burner has a compact, minnow shaped head design that allows for maximum speed and flash while reducing the drag. It features the Raz-R-Blade High RPM Blade which is a thin cut willow leaf that was designed to increase the revolutions of the blade, which increases the flash and keeps the bait from lifting like other willow leaf blades will do. It excels in ultra clear water & high speed applications which is exactly how and where I use it. It's not the most durable bait around and after a few mutant smallies hammer it at light speed it gets a little warped. It comes in a 1/2 oz which is the size I prefer for longer casts. Tip - to add a little more weight which is good in every way, I wrap a short section of solder (from the head to the hook bend) tightly around the main hook shank ~ A-Jay

  9. Just last year, Michigan changed the C & R bass season. Meaning as soon as there is open water, I'm GONE ! A-Jay
  10. I need to improve my fishing platform. A-Jay
  11. On & off the past couple of years I've been ranting & raving about the 6th Sense lures. Clearly not a magic bait but several lures in the line have been more than solid producers. The confidence I have in them have made me reach for a cranking rig a lot more & has brought the fun back into crank baits for me. Highly Recommended. A-Jay
  12. It's all relative - when I lived in Southern NJ I thought 25 was cold. But when it's 50 degrees warmer inside your freezer than it is outside, I'm going to call that cold. A-Jay
  13. Here too ~ until I'd actually experience it. I never really knew . . . . . . . . A-Jay
  14. Agreed ~ and I'll go on to say that I don't want to feel anything about my casting reel at all - ever. Just collect the line quietly & smoothly while I fish please. A-Jay
  15. SK Burner has accounted for a ton of fish for me especially while zipping it around & through shallow water cover. Don't forget that trailer hook. A-Jay

  17. Ask me again why I go to Mexico . . . btw- we're getting a fairly heavy blanket of snow right now - I'll post up a pic later. It's impressive even for this place. A-Jay

  21. Interesting thread ~ My medium depth arsenal includes more newer than older baits. In the clearer water here I seem to benefit from a longer cast. The older baits in this category a little lighter than many of the newer models - 1/4 - 3/8 as compared to 1/2 & 5/8's. So the heavier weight (and usual weight transfer system that come in today's baits) has equated to a few more bites for me. I use a mix of 6th Sense Crush 250MD Crankbaits, Duo Realis M65 Crankbaits, Livingston Lures Howeller Dream Master Classics, Lucky Craft "Skeet Reese" SKT DR Rattle In Crankbaits, Lucky Craft LC 2.0 D10 Crankbaits, Lucky Craft LC Silent Deep Diver 3.5DD Crankbaits, Spro John Crews Little John MD Crankbait, Strike King Pro Model 3XD Crankbaits, Strike King Pro Model 5 Series Crankbaits. Squarebill cranks are not included here. A-Jay

  23. With the exception of suspending & / or balance critical lures, the stock hooks are replaced right out of the package with Mustad KVD 1x Strong 2x Short Triple Grip Treble Hooks. I believe it makes a discernable positive difference in both my hook up & landing success with crankbaits. This includes but it not limited to Top waters, Shallow, Mid & deep diving baits, Lippless lures and even Blade baits & spoons. And btw - It may not payoff to hang a better quality hook onto a stock (bogus) split ring. The Owner Hyper Wire Split Rings have proven themselves to me over & over as a top quality product by getting it done. And don't forget the front lie tie ring as well. The Worth Company X2 Oval Split Rings are X2 Oval Power Rings are 50% stronger than similar fine sized round split rings. Their unique oval design is also self-centering to keep the “split” at the side. These rings are made from a unique magnesium alloy, which is stronger than stainless steel, and are finished with a military-grade zinc plating. Every Double Digit fish I've landed on a crank bait has had these hooks & split rings. A-Jay

I'd highly recommend the 6th Sense Crush Flat 75X Crankbait ~ Been a very good bait for me two seasons running. A-Jay
  25. Heaviest Largemouth came on a Texas Rigged 6 inch June Bug Zoom Lizard ~ Biggest Smallie came on a Bluegill 6th Sense Crush Flat 75X Crankbait ~ A-Jay
