I just got in bed lastnight, left the windows open for fresh air. And a barn owl starts up with his,,,, "who cooks for you" song. I laid there listening to him for an hour. I was so cool to hear wild America. i hear my local resident 400lb blackbear hooting and I can mimic him and call him in but I fear for my cats. Bears hoot because they can't call 1-800-collect.

Sounds like someone wasn't bass fishing. CONGRATS.

My hottest lure is the Rebel BIG CLAW CRAWFISH crankbait "D74" in chartreuse and dives to 10'. i always pick up a few extra when I'm shopping in the past. I was browsing sleezebay and seen the d74 prices at $10 to $20? There only $5.59 at most online places. My point is shop around don't jump on the first offer we see shop smart buy more for less. Shopping smart keeps me above the dollar menu and happy meal at the local fast food places. I don't get a toy but that's ok. food for thought. Bill

Don't sell them collect more?. It fun to collect old fishing tackle too. I buy what's affordable. I find the early plastic lures interesting to me anyway.

When I first got married 44 years ago I wanted to be a forest ranger or border patrol. I wanted to go to Alaska. now I wish we had wild boar here.

Mike Tyson was exceiting to watch upcoming as he won the different belts. It's too bad Cuss passed away. Tyson could of been the greatest. He should of stayed with Kevin Rooney. Kenny Norton, Ali, Joe Fraiser, George Foreman. the only pay for view we did was the spinks/Tyson fight. We had drinks, snacks and it was over in seconds. Never pay again.

I started out bass fishing with livebait. It was costing me $50 a week. I started using both livebait and lures, two rod setups. The lures started out fishing the livebait as I learned the patterns and presentations. I was fishing five to six times a week in the beginning. Then I started fishing everyday for three months straight till I got burned out. beaware of using two rod setups. I almost lost the livebait setup when a 3lber tried to pull it in the water.

I throw my ritual of baits. From cranks, topwater spooks, plastics, spinnerbaits, inline spinners, minnowbaits, I vary my presentations. The water conditions influence the colors I choose. I perfer lures that cover all the bass senses. Color(sight), smell(scent), vibration, rattle(sound).

Depth wise my local hot spots have a 10' depth. I run cranks and spinnerbaits run between 3' to 6'. Crankbait float too I use the topwater too. I also use jigs, Carolina 1/8oz rigs too besides split shot rigs. Early in the mornings in low light conditions most of my action is shallow. As it gets lighter they go deeper.

I mainly fish from shore. I throw a few different spinnerbaits. Bluebird days with clear water conditions, 1. Manns classic spinnerbaits, 1/8oz white skirt, single gold Indiana blade, mister twister split double tail white grub trailer with a trailer hook. 2. Manns classic spinnerbaits, 1/4oz white skirt, double gold Indiana blades, mister twister white split double tail grub trailer with a trailer hook. Overcast days with stained to muddy water conditions., 1. Manns classic spinnerbaits, 1/8oz chartreuse skirt, single Indiana blade, mister twister chartreuse split double tail trailer with a trailer hook. 2. Manns classic spinnerbaits, 1/4oz chartreuse skirt, double gold Indiana blades, mister twister chartreuse split double tail trailer with a trailer hook. the white skirts are actually blue glimmer. the chartreuse skirts are hot chartreuse. dont forget a shot of bass scent. using the mister twister 4" split double tail grub actually make the spinnerbaits look alive and swimming. i adjust my line speed to fish above the sight line were we can see the spinnerbaits near the surface. A go slower so it's below the sight line as to where we can see it. Sometimes the bass will come up above the sight line to strike it and other times their shy and will only strike below the sight line. I never burn a spinnerbaits. I reel just enough to the blades spin.

My pb10lbs was caught on a rebel BIG CLAW crawfish crankbait. I was casting parallel to shore on a drop off. This man made dam/road had a low bridge I was fishing from. I castes parallel to the shoreline about 2' from shore. There's a channel that flows under the bridge. I ripped the crawfish crankbait from the shoreline into the channel when she hit it. In the low light at first the size of this bass shocked me. I only seen fish this big in saltwater. The rebel big crawfish crank is one of my best bass catching lures. The smaller ones work great in streams and rivers.

Try fishing one rod with live bait, minnows. Use another rod setup with lures. Just to start out. As you learn more on how to use lures with different presentations the lure setup will out catch the livebait setup. That's what happened to me.

I fish from shore. 1. Read the water conditions. clear water it's smaller sized, natural colored baits fished faster. stained water conditions it's medium sized, a combination of natural colored baits and brighter colored baits fished slower. muddy water conditions its larger sized, brightest color baits fished the slowest. 2. Location, look for points, droppoffs, flats, holes. I use a cast out hummingbird fish finder to learn the bottom structure. Look for smaller ponds, old man made dams that were used for water power 150+ years ago. There's a drop off at the dam. Some dams are rocky with a man made road on top. Never pass up a body of water that looks too small. I've caught my biggest bass in smaller places. 3. Timing, when to go fishing, I find the fish are closest to the shore in dark to low light conditions.(4:00am to 10:00am) As it gets lighter they move to there deeper haunts and hiding places. I fish from dark to dawn. One must be very stealthy. Don't make any noise at all, don't talk. Handle your tackle quietly. The bass are at the shoreline and any noise will spook them. Don't slam the car door. I open and close the bail on my spinning reel by hand again no noise. In the dark I use a small AA FLASH lite. Keep it low to your tackle box. In the mornings as it gets later near 8:30/9:00am as the bass move out to deeper water I switch to a Carolina rigged plastic with a 1/8oz weight with a 24" leader. I use a senko, brushog, 6" worm. Evenings are another good time to fish. (5:00pm to 9:30pm) they move from their deeper haunts to the shore to feed. Lunch time, another good time to fish. The plants give off plankton which the bait fish feed on. The baitfish get active and the bass will turn on to feed. morning and evening changing light conditions. The baitfishes eyes adjust slowly to the changing light conditions. The basses eyes adjust faster to the changing light conditions so there feeding on the baitfish. Dont be afraid to change lure size and colors. Throw different style of lures till you get action. Casting, i do do what I call Skip Fan Casting from shore. I fan cast but skip to the right and left so I don't spook the fish by putting my casts side by side to each other. scents, I use a bass attractant, a regular bass scent and I carry a few different flavors. If no action is happening with a bass scent try changing to a garlic scent.(example) color of your clothes, dont wear bright colored clothes. If you can see the bass they can see you. I prefer camo or darker colored clothes nothing bright. in the evenings there are more numbers of bass caught but their smaller up to 5lbs but many 2 to 3 lbers. In the mornings with no one else around the bass are in lesser numbers but there bigger. My pb10lbs was caught at 5:30am 2 feet from shore at a drop off. Again it pays to be stealthy she was close to me in the water I made a cast parallel to the shoreline. shore fishing isn't hard once you learn the bottom structure. The more we learn the less we get skunked. It's skill that catches fish not luck.

I try to teach my son that sports is entertainment. Vegas rules when it comes to sports they don't lose. This could be a Spinks vs Tyson fight over right away or dragged out to a draw for a rematch? Money makes the world go around, sports is a big gambling money draw. So is pay for view. remember it's entertainment. In MMA I like it we get to see two fighters let loose on each other. It's not like wrestling. I miss Ronda. have you ever see mike Tyson (boxer)when he's in the groove. His lightening head movement and hand speed is one of the fastest I've ever seen. I think the McGregor is going to have trouble with a boxer. Like I said remember Ali vs Joe rematches? i was going to get the pay for view but the last time I got pay for view was the spinks vs Tyson fight we were robbed. Good for iron mike bad for us viewers.

Been hunting Blackbears since '73. Been close, very close like 10' away in the tall grass. Tracked a sow with one cub but let her go. There was a mountainlion following the cub/sow too. Harvested one sow leaving the apple orchard by herself. I like hunting one on one, no baits just us against nature. I find a good area to sit, light my $5 cigar and wait.

Changed up my meat. Sent the misses to the store for T Bone steaks, one each. The kids loved it.

I interview them the same time they interview me. Being a class A CNC machine tool builder, auto, truck, 4x4 mechanic, machinest there isn't much I can't do. I built machine tools to make parts you touch everyday of your life. "Disc Brakes" is one of them. I worked on the Disney tower of terror. I built 155mm howitzers for the us Army. you can do anything you put your mind to do. during one interview the boss asked me if I could do the job. I told him I can build anything on the planet put me in the game coach.

Hotdogs cooked over a hardwood fire. Everything tastes better with a wood fire. Add bacon, frenches mustard, hot pepper relish, Bavarian kraut. Toast and butter the roll. or add chili, kraut and cheese only. any dog tastes great on a wood fire betcha can't eat just one. for burgers it's a grill cheese, carmalized fried sweet onions, bacon. I call them the bomb. I never got past three as a kid. now ya went and did it I'm hungry, time for big bills back yard BBQ at night.

I'm thinking rib eye tomorrow. Or a whole filet monyon sliced thick or butterfly it for sandwiches. A little BBQ sauce slightly burnt to perfection. Then chicken, dogs, burgers and sliced stick pepperoni on the fire. Yummy. my weight loss program just grew wings and flew away.

My arthritis is in my finger joints now and spreading. My finger joints snap when I open and close them. It's worse when the rain is approaching. I need injections for my lower back maybe he can do my finger joints too. i need to stop running after miss Bigfoot. Lol

After ten years of being closed crickets drive in, in Stratford, ct just reopened yesterday. They have the most awesome long dog with the works on the planet. Buttered toasted buns, hot pepper relish, mustard, kraut. I could eat four or five in my younger days when doing cement work. There on access road. Near the Stratford air port.

Hard to pick one. Memorial day, July 4, it's steaks, burgers, hotdogs. Thanksgiving it's turkey. Cranberry sausage stuffing. Homemade pasta. Homemade pies for deaert. Christmas, it's the Lord's birthday. Homemade pasta, prime rib roast, fixings, desert. Easter it's spiral honey ham, fixings, kielbasa, homemade pasta, deserts.

I sold my '99 1200 Suzuki bandit. I woke up the 1100gsxr detuned engine the bandit had. The downfall is the bike is so smooth at 100mph you are comfortable there. To keep ahead of the traffic one day it's 85mph. Another day it's 90mph. If you go slow they will run you over. I did put some youngsters on their rockets in their place. There shocked to see gray hair. I did let her out a few times at 155mph. But had to part with her I was constantly doing 100mph. It was time to let go. Now I'm restoring vintage, post vintage husqvarna bikes. Thinking about another bandit....after having cancer it doesn't matter, live life to the fullest. I could drop a leg in a turn with the best of them. Anyone who wants to learn how to ride should learn in the dirt first.

Crickets Drive in, in Stratford, ct. they closed over a decade ago but the new one is about to open up soon. Near we're the old place was near the airport. foot long hotdog with the works, buttered toasted roll, deep fried hummels hotdog, hot pepper relish, yellow mustard, sauerkraut, cant eat just one, when i I was a kid working all day back filling foundations by hand with no lunch for supper I ate four foot long hotdogs. My old man would cry. I said you work me like two people I eat like two people. Lmas. The kids today don't know what real work is. The hotdog with the skin is the best. At home cooked over a charcoal/ mixed hardwood fire. You have to have that wood flavor.
