What Species Is This?
Pike minnow, formerly known as a squawfish @Happybeerbuzz. One of their primary food sources is salmon/steelhead smolts and Washington, Oregon and Idaho have a bounty program to reduce their numbers...

For you guys that fish both Shimano and Daiwa baitcasters...
I fish both Shimano and Daiwa reels, and IMHO both companies produce high quality reels. Like @waymont, I use my Shimanos for moving baits and have been for quite some time. As for my Daiwas, I like to use them for target oriented and bottom contact techniques. BTW, try as I might, those old “B” series still grace my deck...

I think you’ve been watching too many re-runs of “Baywatch” lol. Granted, in my younger days I probably would have been up in Tahoe skiing, not out on the water chasing green fish.... * BTW @BigAngus752, I can’t remember the last time I found 80 degree water in the Delta?

It was nice to clear a little 2020 SIP funk and take the boat out for a few hours. I found gin clear 52 degree water with a little wind chop to start my session. And while I did get ‘em on a jerkbait, it was a crankbait is what put this 4.4lber on board....

- Thanksgiving 2020
I appreciate your thoughts @WRB, and a Happy Thanksgiving to your family and those of the Bass Resource community. May everyone stay safe and healthy during this Holiday season....- Is Bass Fishing a Seasonal Sport?
I noticed in your original post @Captain Phil you mentioned 9 AM and summertime fishing in the Sunshine State. That got me thinking late Fall and Winter in my part of the Left Coast, 0900hrs is about the time I’ll go hook up the boat. Nothing like scratching that itch to fish from 1000-1400hrs as I look forward to the pre-spawn and Spring....- Anybody Got Purchase Plans Over Winter?
True dat @Catt! That 6.2l takes premium and it’s currently $3.69 at Chevron here in town. Just happy the Merc burns regular....- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
- Do you use google Earth to search the Delta? Kayak fishing.
I’d go with an “olde school” approach by getting a good Delta map to locate areas of interest and expand the knowledge of where you currently fish. Then fine tune those specific areas you’ve identified using Google Earth. Couple this approach with an app on the tides and I think you’ll be in business. Good luck- Waterproofing A Tackle Bag?
Lot’s of products out there, but I’d just try a can of good ole Scotchguard @5/0. It’s worked for me on my outdoor gear, outdoor kitchen canvas cover. Of course all situations are different, and YMMV...- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

I’d do as @MN Fisher suggested and remove the trailers, especially if they have a high salt content like a GYCB. Rusty and brittle hooks I discovered are not worth saving a $1.00 trailer so I just chuck ‘em. IMHO, if you take care of your equipment, it’ll take care of you...- New Melones (CA) in the Fall?
I think you’ve got a solid lineup @5/0, maybe consider a shad patterned lipless or square bill crankbait. Angler West has done a couple of TV shows up at Berry about bass fishing this time of year. Good luck on your tourney. * I saw on another thread @NorcalBassin was doing a little spooning for some nice, quality fish, just another technique to consider...- Lake Baccarac Oct 2020 (Video)
Got a chance to enjoy video #1 @A-Jay, great job! I found myself craning my head to mitigate the glare on the scale display in anticipation of how BIG that 8.53lb fish was. Glad you had another great trip- Fishmas 2020
I’m in, thanks @deaknh03 for making this happen - Thanksgiving 2020
