  1. my experience has been less than satsifactory from Pure fishing, by way of Pflueger. Had sent several emails (around 5) for about a month and calling as well (4 times) with no reply or contact with a human being. Finally talked to a person Tuesday and the first thing that was said after I told her my problem, broken handle, was that a replacement would only be available for purchase, and the warranty was void due to not having a sales reciept, which I knew because I bought it used off ebay. I had intended on purchasing the handle anyways but it was the tone in which she used to cut me off during my explanation. I really like Pflueger, have 3 Patriarchs, a Supreme, an Asaro, and a President spinning reel but this makes me wonder now.... :-/
  2. go with the Powell if you have the extra $$. Never used the Co-Matrix but the Powell Max is a great rod
  3. They've got it, tighten drag, push in, crank backwards
  4. an 08 Energy E750PT (5.1) can be found on ebay for less than $100, great reel for cranks IMO
  5. definitely a lower gear ratio with a lower IPT rating.
  6. understandable...If she likes it then pick one up for her. Pflueger makes quality spinning tackle, have never used a trion but I have heard good things. Plus part of it goes for a cause, and that's even better.
  7. Does she like purple? St. Croix Mojo and an 08 Quantum Energy
  8. I primarily fish Pflueger but I have a Curado E7 on my flipping stick. I like it for this application and for casting jigs and small swimbaits. It's definitely a good choice but the Revo's do come with the beefed up drag
  9. I just can't get over how unappealing and uncomfortable they look
  10. Mine does that sometimes, there are certain spots that you can't flip it up but it you mean after the cast, flip the bail manually, don't crank to engage it
  11. Definaltey could handle owning that revo...kinda looks like the Elite CB
  12. The power bait nuggets work rather well but so do marshmallows
  13. This little guy right here and a few of these little guys other than that, some good fresh chicken liver.
  14. I use that almost excact rig for all my crappie fishing with the exception of the deer hair jig, I usually use a small tube on a jighead.
  15. The problem I have with the curado is that it is not offered in 6.4 and for just an all around reel I like 6.4 so I guess I would say the citica
  16. The supreme is a great reel, I feel that the brake is a little less refined then that of the Patriarch. Despite it's appearances it is quiet comfortable to handle and palms with descent ease and casts wonderfully. It's not as ergonomic or as easy to use as the Patriarch, haven't used a president, and have an Asaro which is the same frame as the summit which is a very comfortable design as well. I would imagine the casting and braking of the summit and supreme are similar, pretty close to the same reel with different frames. Any of the higher end pfluegers are good choices and can be found at significantly lower prices on ebay; Supreme (Discontinued) $60-110, Summit $90-140, Patriarch usually less than $170. Not a lot of new presidents on there yet
  17. Personally I prefer not to fish with door wedges
  18. Didn't even know we had pickerel here in KY
  19. Depends on what you are gonna use it for. I would suggest 6.4 for a broader range of uses
  20. I have a 6'10'' MH Gold that I originally bought for smaller texas rigs and slow moving baits. On first impression I thought it was a bit flimsy to have a F tip. After application, I found the action to be extremely moderate, almost parabolic, It makes for a great cranking rod and have a feeling that when I get my Sol back it will be an amazing combo.
  21. I don't know about superlines and braids for beginners, one mess up and it can ruin their day. I would suggest a limper mono/copolymer like Trilene XL, P-Line Cx Premium, or Yozuri Hybrid or ultra soft.
