  1. I just bought 2 a few weeks ago, if you need a shallow crankbait rod that cam double for finesse plastics, the gold is a good choice. The actions are a bit slower than the normal LTX. I really like them, have 3 now, some don't and say they break too easy, I've personally never had any trouble with my 6'10MH that ive had for 2 years. I have, however, had trouble with the tip guide grooving, the new guides are different though so this may have been corrected.
  2. They both have the same running depth of 4-6'. The fry weighs 1/4oz, the guppy 3/8oz and both are 2" long.
  3. A pack of BPS Tender Tubes and a pack of the BPS XPS tube hooks.
  4. Not worth it anymore, no matter what rod you have. I'd look at another manufacturer.
  5. Net Bait Paca Chunk and Zoom ultravibe/super speedcraw.
  6. mine came yesterday too but I was fishing and wasn't here to sign for it. Can't wait to get it today.
  7. I use at least 10lb YZ on spinning , 12lb on casting
  8. 9'XH sounds nice....I'll keep a look out....I think a communal musky box sounds like a good idea so I don't go bankrupt....I need to sell some tackle
  9. Holy crap!!! Well, you certainly have a nice sounding bluegill combo coming. Why is it that when you get interested in something, I always end up buying similar stuff. I swear I'm not trying to tackle block you. You get excited, I buy :-?
  10. Yeah, well, take another 5 points cuz I just won and payed for a Cardiff 300A 5 minutes ago :
  11. Just won a Tackle Industries 7'6"-8'MH rod, ready to go crappie fishing
  12. Usually when the bite slows and a tube or shakey head doesn't work. Haven't used it much this year. Alot of times I like to throw it at visual targets.
  13. I picked some of the tubes up today at Wal-mart for $2 a pack. After reading the other thread I wanted to actually try them out for myself. Went out earlier and started with a jig, had one about a pound take it on the first cast and then another bite that didn't hookup. Decided to try the tubes out, started with an internal tube weight on a 2/0 ewg, first cast this little guy smoked it here's the bait Two more on within about 15 mins that were "quick released" one about a pound, the other around 2. Lost that tube, rigged another and this one hit in about 12' of water and 20-25 yards out. Kept me on bottom the whole way in and went under a rock, thought I was hung but she came darting out after a minute or so still chomping on the tube. Bait again The thing that impressed me the most was the hits I got. I was using a 7'M F&S TechSpec rod and 12lb XL and the bites were just massive, harder than they have felt on my Zillion rod with FC, these fish wanted that tube. The sensitivity in this rod is lacking, it's a $50 rod, but the bites were unmistakable. I feel that it was, atleast in part, due to the pheromones and scent. At 2 bucks a pop, really worth the buy, original price not so much, just my 2 cents.
  14. I really like the zeros but I'm not a fan of any other elaztech or 3X baits, the way I fish the zeros, either wacky rigged or exposed, enable decent hookups but I had some 3X finesse worms that I could not get a hookset with when rigged on a shakey head.
  15. We went out on Cave Run last year, it was a rough day, cold, spitting rain, Big Tom was sick for about 2 weeks after that. It wasn't a successful day at all but good enough for us to want to go back, the day I went we all three had followers. Tom hooked the the musky he did on a 7'9''MH Dobyns Mike Long Swimbait Rod. I hope we get to go out a few days this year, definitely something I could get used to doing, maybe not all the time.
  16. I have no problems with Quantum reels, I currently have three but have had others with no problems at all. For me, $200 is alot to spend on any reel, not just a Quantum. they look really nice though, I'm glad black reels are coming more available. The rod looks promising too and it's in a very affordable price range. I hate that cabelas says they have something in stock when they aren't available yet. If you were to buy one you would get a back order notice until they have them available, they never tell you that they aren't available to the public yet.
  17. Bazinga A catchy phrase to accompany your clever pranks. As popularized by Sheldon Cooper
  18. It's a Quantum so it needs Quantum's Hot Sauce, it's specially formulated for Quantum's PT bearings. Personally, I wouldn't use any oil or grease on my reels that it's made for reels.
  19. I had trouble with them turning over and getting wrapped up on the cast.
  20. Yeah, it was interesting, a thick yet light smoke. Very smooth, clean, and tastey. It did feel very illegal at first since he didn't tell us what it was originally, he just broke it out and set it up.
  21. That must be one big bass to eat an 8' bait 8-) jk lol No, little fish go deep too
  22. I like mine, got a 20 for bluegill and crappie fishing and haven't used it all that much. Did take it to the creek and fished some crappie tubes for gills and small spots, it has a strong and smooth drag and retrieves smoothly. I was worried about the neck joint at first but it seems built solid.
  23. I like 'em, the tail is a bit fragile,a big bluegill can take it off pretty quick, but then it make a pretty good dropshot worm.
  24. Same here, always wanted to go to both but never made it. Sounds like fun and glad to see the support for the BSA.
  25. I have an E5 and really like it for baits 8'+. I have heard the E5 is better with lighter baits than the winch and would take micros advice. http://www.tackletour.com/review2010lowspeedfinal.html
