  1. IMO the Strike King cranks are the best bang for your buck.
  2. Have 2 shads and 2 bluegill. They all swim on their side at any speed above a slow crawl. The finishes aren't durable at all either.
  3. Hhaha!Maybe Him and Jackie Chan Be in part 2. haha....Every outfit needs a world class sniper.....enter Tom Berenger
  4. I just wanna know one thing....Where is Jean-Claude Van Damme?
  5. Hookerz tackle has some good hooks, I made an order from there a few months ago and so far they are very impressive for the price
  6. I buy from tackle warehouse, EBay, local tackle shops, sportsmans warehouse, BPS, and walmart.....pretty much in that order
  7. First generations seem to go that way, you would think that the R&D behind some of the rods would detect weaknesses but apparently not, that or they just hurry the release of the series and try to work out the kinks later. Dobyns completely rebuilt their rod lines for the Gen2 rods, W&M are currently switching to a new blank, and e21 redesigned practically their entire catalog of bass rods this year.
  8. Here are actual pics of some things already stated Pixy Shimano Cardiff 300A/7'6''-8' MH Tackle Industries Musky Rod
  9. Are you by chance related to TeamGolija?... i was thinkin the same me too
  10. haha...I love watching cat videos...I think this is one of my favorite.
  11. Sorry J....I'm gonna end this. If you really must know what he bought, it's a combo of both a jig and a crank You're welcome
  12. That's what I do if I have a ported spool. I know some people that tape it to the spool, I've never been completely spooled by a fish so I've never really worried about it.
  13. Just got my 6'6''MH Worm/Jig rod today. My first impression, like others I have read, is the weight of the rod, it's really light and decently balanced. I've paired it with a Pflueger Patriarch 64LP and really like how they balance together. I plan on fishing several different techniques with the rod to really dial in where it will fit in my arsenal. Once I get a chance to put it through the paces, I plan on starting with a tube, t-rig, and smaller finesse jig like a Bitsy Bug or Bitsy Flip, just to fulfill it's labeled purpose. I am also interested in how it might throw spinnerbaits, small swimbaits, and topwater. I use mostly 7' rods so I feel that the shorter length may really come in handy for close quarters fishing. I am also looking forward to giving the Fuji ACS reel seat a chance. I've tended to dismiss rods with this reel seat when purchasing rods because while it feels comfortable without a reel, I was skeptical of how it would feel with a reel. I have been surprised thus far and look forward to really trying it out. So far my impressions are good and soon we'll see how it works out on the water. Thanks Pinnacle1 and all at Silstar, so far it seems like you have a winner on your hands with this new series of rods.
  14. It's a great, solid built reel. I have one that I still use some for trolling for walleye. I fished it heavily for about 2-3 years until the drag started to slip some, it was acquired third hand and had been fished hard before I got it. Never really ventured into getting fixed though, kinda wish I had, I've used it for some parts for other reels. As for using it for spinnerbaits, it may be a little slow but shouldn't be a hindrance.
  15. A budget microguide rod isn't out yet, wait a little bit and Wright and McGill will be bringing a $99 micro guide tessera and e21 will be bringing out the Carrot Stix Wild which had micro guides. And as for the SX, its a great reel but that leaves less than $40 if you have to stay under $200
  16. Well my suggestion is a BPS combo like this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10205011_100003000_100000000_100003000_100-3-0 or http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104142_100003000_100000000_100003000_100-3-0 if you aren't set on split-grips this is the way I'd go http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_102398_100003000_100000000_100003000_100-3-0 If you wan't to build your own combo, I'd look at the Falcon Bucco, Vendetta, Lamiglas Excel, or Okuma EVX for rods, I think they match your criteria for a rod. As for the reel, the decent $100 reel market is kinda small, I'd look at the BPS Pro Qualifier, Carbonlite, or Extreme. There are also the Daiwa Exceler, Abu Garcia Orra SX, Shimano Caenan which isn't out yet, and Quantum Accurist. If you want too go a little over, say $120 you should look at the Shimano citica.
  17. They've been on clearance for at least a couple months now at several retailers, including TW, BPS, and Cabelas. Yes but his post said closeout sale I was wondering why they are "closeing" out the carrot stix? Because the current line have been discontinued and revamped
  18. I reccomend P-line CXX for everthing.
  19. Sounds like a winner to me, no experience with the avid spinning rod but I love my CI4, I think you'll do the same.
  20. I didn't want to say it but I will agree I'm not a fan of G-Loomis, had a crankbait rod and unloaded it after one outing, but they are a solid manufacturer. Are they pricey, yes, but I too wouldn't buy below IMX if I were to purchase on.
  21. I think E21 is redoing all of their lines of rods...this is just a liquidation of current inventory. http://tackletour.com/reviewicast10e21.html
