  1. It seems to me that there are alot of 7'M graphite rods are descent for shallow to mid cranks. I have been using a 6'10''MH e21 Carrot Gold Stix for shallow-mid cranks, jerkbaits, and topwater. For deeper cranks I use a 7'MH Lucky Craft cranking rod which, if I'm not mistaken, is a fiberglass rod but is relatively light, lighter than the Quantum KVD rods, and is extremely sensitive.
  2. I use a Dobyns 795MLSB with a Abu Garcia Revo Toro 50-HS. It's great for the baits that I use which are SK King Shads, Mattlures soft Bluegill, Hard Gill, and Hard Bass, Tru-Tungsten Tru-Life 7''.
  3. MH-XF.....like most people said, just about anything with a single hook like t-rigs, jigs, and spinnerbaits
  4. The first thing that comes to mind is it could be 2 things....either it's getting wrapped around the tip of you rod or the braid is dighing down and biting on itself in the spool. Have you gotten hung up prior to the break off? If so it's the second one. Also, what size line are you using? Smaller braids have a tendency to dig into the spool more so than larger sizes.
  5. I assume it is in a blister package, if so, take it out, something could be rubbing on the package like the line guide or part of the handle. I personally don't like blister packages cause you never know how it's been treated, at least with a box it's somewhat protected.
  6. Must be alot of you new hampshire boys here, 3 year old thread, 74 pages
  7. The Stradic CI4 is a step above anything else I have had (Pflueger President, Supreme, Quantum Energy, Mitchell Avocet ). Have never fished a shimano spinning reel but the Stradic is by far the best reel I have used.
  8. I lost 6 Fat Free Shads and SK Series 5 and 6 in one outing this spring deep cranking from the shore in the exact same spot. I kept throwing there and do you know why, when I would hit the stump without hanging every 10 min or so... BAM fish on and some nice ones that day at that.
  9. Eagle claw makes a dern good aberdeen hook...the red worm hooks are okay if you don't store them for long, tend to rust quiet easily and the bronze are even worse. A good hook for fishing on a budget that are readily available.
  10. The grape jelly worms are nowhere near being new...but they caught some monsters for Paul Elias at Falcon http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/elite/news/story?id=3383737 never get tired of that video
  11. 1/4oz should be ok, I usually fish 1/4 and have on reels up and down the spectrum form a Quantum Code and Revo S to a Pflueger Patriarch and Daiwa Zillion
  12. Curado 200 E5....$179 retail....can be found at a number of places for around $150 and sometimes less on Ebay
  13. Just email or call Kistler, they are good with customer service. Had a buddy with a cracked tip on a magnesium that was likely damaged during shipping, the rod was replaced within a reasonable time fram and he got a great deal on a new LTA straight from Kistler. Just let them know of your concern and they should do you right. No matter how good or expensive a product is, there are always bound to be a few that slip by unnoticed.
  14. I like my sol for shallow to mid cranks and my curado E5 for deep divers. KVD uses a power energy for much of his cranking.
  15. I have a wide variety of jigs, don't do too much jig fishing as of yet but if I can ever get a boat, there is a lake here that's loaded with places to fish them, almost too many. I like the Omega jigs, Bitsy Flips, and ***s jigs.
  16. Steez on a Steez You can feel a moth fly by it ! 8-) Stradic CI4 on a Damiki Dark Angel you can feel a fish bite it
  17. I'm usually a chicken eater at Taco Bell....Chicken Grilled Stuft Burrito, Chicken Quesadilla, chicken burritos and soft tacos.
  18. I have bent a few of the Light Wire Gammies but between 15lb P-line CXX and still rooted trees, something had to give.
  19. The Kislters are in the Bargain Cave at Cabelas website but not at that deep of a discount. If that is the Helium II on sale, I'd almost be up for a trip to a Cabelas too, the nearest one is 5hrs but almost worth it.....almost
  20. Tell you what, let us know the sizes, I'll choose one, pay you for the rod and actual shipping and I'll let you know how they workout.
  21. Texas rigged like any other ribbon tail worm
  22. Taylor Swift is really cute, the squinty cat eyes bug me a bit but she is adorable. However, I can't really imagine a trip with someone I don't really know, I'm kinda shy. I don't imagine we'd have much to talk about. I don't think the conversation would be very heavy with KVD either but you have a little common interests there. Can I trade KVD for Iaconelli or Aaron Martens? KVD is great, don't get me wrong, but I find Iaconelli and Martens to be more versatile in adverse conditions and they seem to fish more my style so I feel they could be more beneficial to me. I would also imagine that fishing behind KVD would be a little tough. If it has to be KVD then I would choose KY Lake with him.
